![]() Robert Pavey is the outdoors editor for The Augusta Chronicle. Contact him at (706) 868-1222, Ext. 119 rob.pavey@augustachronicle.com. Note: The photo was taken for us by a Moultrie I-60 Had the pleasure of once again doing an interview with Mr. Robert Pavey of the Augusta Chronicle and the subject that was discussed was past, present and future of trail cameras. Due to the increasing interest and the approaching deer season the topic of game cameras seems to be fairly hot. The purpose of the interview was for him to gather data on trail cameras for this next Sundays sports page edition. Unknown to him this was a two way interview for our site to see just how media sports folks are accepting some of the more advanced items that is available to today’s sports folks. I was clearly amazed that there are many folks that are still searching for a way to find out about some of the new products. With the constant bombardment of advertisements that appear on every outdoor magazine page and commercials that absorb the a good part of the time on the Outdoor channel we only seem to have those adds as a reference to make our choices about products. In the above picture Mr. Pavey is examining a Wildview Extreme 4 as to the ease of programming verses the method used on other game cameras. Not being technical in nature, many folks find themselves in a situation with a camera and book in their lap trying to figure just how does this thing work. Here comes Chasingame to the rescue (hopefully) with some layman’s ways and methods to understand and make better decisions to the somewhat complex industry of scouting cameras. It was an interesting interview and I came away with a good feeling that a few of the folks that pay attention to these things here in the Augusta area may find useful. Thanks to Robert Pavey and the Augusta Chronicle for their interest and the support of this fast growing industry. Bill |
