Battle of the Wildviews:
For all the Wildview lovers out there we are putting the 2, 2IR,
3, 4, 5 Wildviews in a couple day test to get a comparison of
picture quality, and sensing ability of these 5 cameras. All will be
set at their highest rez setting with care being taken to insure
that all cameras are aimed at the same point on a feeder or corn
pile and all conditions are as close as possible. May the fun begin.
We are using the 5 camera stand that we have used in the past.
The cameras are placed in a curve whose origin is at 17 feet.
I poured out 50lbs of corn at 17 feet in front of the cameras.
All are aimed the same point and at the same height.
08/13/2007 Update: After 56
hours I pulled the cards and compared the results. The
number of photos taken are listed below. It would
appear that most of the cameras have similar sensing.
The newer models performed a bit better than the older
models. Apparently the WV2IR, WV4 and WV5 have a more
sensitive sensing mechanism. The picture count is
somewhat low because of the heat but all variables were even
making this a valid test. The Wildview 4 and 5 have
noticeably better picture quality. The Wildview 5 has
the superior flash.
With all cameras mounted at the same height and on the same
plane vertically, it is important to note how different the
flash splash and lense aim is amongst the various cameras.
Some flash more on the ground while others are higher up.
The same holds true for the lenses.
