I like my Ltl-5210MM's (most of the time), but I really like my Uovision UM562. (I just realized, I think it's been awhile since we've heard anything about the Ltl-6210.)

The Covert Code Black is a cousin to the UM562, but black flash. That's a feature I wish the UM562 had, but "you gotta fight with the army you have," or something like that.

LTL-5210MM: <http://chasingame.com/index.php?id=212>
And if you've got big buck$: <http://chasingame.com/index.php?id=205>
And one that somebody on CG might own, but maybe not: <http://chasingame.com/index.php?id=61>

BTW, if you're going to search for other brands and more reviews, use "MMS camera." I'm not sure of all the alphabet soup involving cell phones, but I believe SMS (Short Message Service) is text only. MMS, Multimedia Messaging Service, will transmit images.

I own four MMS cameras: SG580M, Ltl Acorn, Super Scouter (purchased direct from China), and a Covert Code Black. The Code Black is by far my favorite. As Doug mentioned, the UM562 is the red flash cousin of the Covert Code Black. My advice is decide what type of flash you want and make your choice from these two.

I'm at 400 transferred pictures and still have full bars on the battery life indicator.

Due to a comedy of errors I don't have an accurate battery life report to give. I'm currently on my second set of Alkalines and will report my battery life when they are exhausted. From what I can estimate, I got about 2000 transmitted pictures on the first set of Alkaline batteries, then the camera switched over to operating as a conventional camera...just takes and stores pictures, but doesn't transmit them.

Mikeinkaty has his on an external battery with solar, which seems to be an unending power supply. These cameras have the option to write over the oldest pictures when the SD card is full; that's a great feature for long term solar deployment.

As far as I know, the only U.S. providers for these cameras are AT&T and Cingular.

I really enjoy the Ltl 5210mm 940. It's a no glow (completely invisible) camera, and works great IMHO. I haven't tried the Covert though...sounds interesting. I do love the fact that the Ltl 5210mm 940 does picture PLUS video at the same time, making it great for surveillance/security applications. Sometimes, it can be a little sensitive and I find that it needs to be left on Low Sensitivity...that's my only "complaint" I guess.

Are you going to use AT&T?
Do you want to activate the account on-line, or do you want to physically go to an AT&T store?

I haven't found enough information about Tru to know if that will work. That leaves your choices as either AT&T, or T-Mobile.

That will depend on where you're going to use the cam.
<http://www.wireless.att.com/coverageviewer/partner.jsp#?type=gophone&opt=payg>
<http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/prepaid-coverage>

If the Tru SIM begins searching for "a network" as soon as the phone is turned on, you might get AT&T, or T-Mobile, or neither one. Check the maps for where you want to use the cam.

The tru in the spy point live applications working great. The camera isn't though. It doesn't like anything above 85 degrees ..it reds out the battery bars and misses pictures. On a lighternot when sending thumbnails it has take around 500 pics with 12. Syncs a day and only cost 5$ so far. The spypoint rechargeable battery is crap.. After 200 pics it's at 50 % and my titanium litchis energizer ultimates are 100 % after300 pics...I'm sending camera back because it goes dead .. Talked to spypoint and they said to return it for repair. I'm just getting refund from where I bought it. I have no confidence in it right now.
