#126351 Well I've had a time with Spypoint cameras. Last year I had two FL-A cameras that wouldn't work over two weeks at most. Now have a IR-A camera that I purchased last Sept that has quit working. Nothing but dark pics during night time. I called Spypoint and got a RMA number and was told it would be three weeks before I got my camera back. Something to do with the filter stuck according to the tech I talked to. Awesome!!! Now I'm out a camera for three weeks......or longer.

#126356 Sorry to hear that. Problem with mechanical items is that they are mechanical and do break. I had to send a WGI IR-4 back and it was bad from the get go. Luckily they fixed it but turn around was right at 2 1/2 weeks.

Glad there are good companies that will fix it. Have read bad stories about some other companies.

#126358 Well I'm not so sure its a stuck filter. Why would some photos be lighter than the next?

#127297 Hi bobcat ! I know that it's never fun when you have to wait for something but let me promise you that our techs will do the best to send the camera back to you as soon as they can. From what i see, it's probably the filter that flips when night time comes. One thing for sure, you will get your cam back running like new. For the FL-A cameras, we have improved considerably the battery lifetime for 2010 and the 2010 chasingame review on the FL-A can confirm that : http://www.chasingame.com/index.php?id=144 . I suggest that you go on our website and download the latest software version for the FL-A. It will improve many things as explained on the review. Hoping you will get great pics in the near future.

#127310 I just put my Spypoint FLA back out this morning.Had it in for a week as I was relocating it.How hard is the firmware to download.I am computer stupid.I may try the new firmware next week if it is a simple thing to do.I looked at it and think I understand everything except the extract part. David

#127312 bobcat, I checked on the database here and it's written that the problem is now solved. The filter was probably just stuck and it is now ok. But we have a note that if the camera do the same problem later after the warranty, we will fix the problem for free. We are offering a really good customer so trust me, if the camera do this problem after warranty, we will sove it for free.

Blues : The firware update is not so difficult to do but our technical service will be able to do it with you by the phone. Make sure to have the camera with you at home or only the SD card and we have special system where we can use your own computer from here so we can do everything for you ! You can call at 1-888-SPYPOINT and we will do everything with you. First of all please check the version you already have on your own camera. The last update for the FL-A is 1.8. Maybe you already have the lastest version!
1. Turn OFF the camera.
2. Hold down the «DOWN» button.
3. Turn ON the camera while holding down the «DOWN» button.
4. Check the numbers on the LCD screen. You should see for example: 2010……xxxx…… xxxx……4F18. The xxxx is the production ID, and the last 2 digits in 4F18 mean the version is 1.8.

If you already have the version 1.8 you don't have anything to do. If you have a previous version, it's just an option to do the improvement but it will help the camera to work better !

Thanks

I agree totally. I do not have a spypoint (yet), but they seem to have shown improvement in pic quality and definitely customer service seems good. I don't see any Bushnell reps on here leading everyone to the promised land  . Good job Spypoint, hopefully a new cam from them will be in my future

#127470 I've got a fl-a and right now its sitting on the seat of my truck just begging to get put back out.I really like this little cam and the fact that I can switch from flash to ir with the switch of a module.Brought it in to do the update. Went without a hitch.
