There is one issue I cant see . I dont see this man carrying a cam . He is not wearing a fannypack or a backpack . Its not in his hands , its not hanging off his free shoulder . His gun is on his other shoulder and I only see his sling . No other strap is visible .
If he stole your cam and this pic came from a cam that is only 60 feet from the missing cam , you would think there would be some strap or bulge on him that would show he is carrying it . He does have a big beer gut so maybe he ate it ? I doubt that cause he more than likely was saving that gut room for more beer  So what did he do with the cam in the 40 or so feet he walked from where the other cam was to where he is now ? Not to mention he appears to see this cam .

Only my opinion but I dont think it was him

I would give more suspicion that it was one of the kids with pellet guns . Kids with pellet guns walk a long way not to mention they have already been stealing money out of the camper on your lease.

Sport,
The cam that got him shows him walking towards the stolen one. He hadnt made it to my Covert yet. It's in GW hands now, time will tell. I'm pretty much chalkin it up as gone. But I'm smarter !!

Phoneguy glad you cleared that up that he was actually walking towards the other cam . So if he kept going straight in the direction that he is walking , where is he heading towards ? Is he leaving the heading towards his house . I ask that only because he has his gun sling over his shoulder . Obviously not a hunting posture walking through the woods . Looks like he is heading towards a destination. I know I only sling my gun over my shoulder when im heading out or heading in to my treestand in the dark . Do you know what time this pic was taken ?
You may very well be correct that he is the one who took the cam if his house is in the direction that he is walking

UPDATE: I just saw your map and he was heading towards his house when walking past the cam. The only thing that sheds any doubt is him looking at the cam that took his pic . Like Peter Nap on another post I elarged the pic and it sure looks like he was staring right at the cam .

One simple fact that nobody on this thread has picked up on. There is absolutely ZERO evidence this man is responsible. The only fact that exists is that he was at the general location between the time the camera was last seen and the time it was discovered missing. That does not make him guilty of anything at all, just an interesting coincidence and nothing more. Your personal prejudices aside, the only fact is he was in the general area once.

We are all very protective of our spots and our cameras. Anytime we see someone in our spots, we get very upset. I know I do!

unfortunately the sheriff would arrest him on your complaint and then your troubles start. you would have to prove that the guy was trespassing and the photo by itself would probably not be enough. if you are unable to prove the guy was trespassing you could/would be sued for a false arrest.

a better strategy is to complain to the sheriff and encourage/incent the sheriff to catch the guy trespassing so that the sheriff is making the arrest based on his own observation as a sworn law enforcement officer.

a recommended incentive is a donation of a basic game/surveillance camera to the sheriff, initially installed at your property. if that camera get's stolen, or provides additional evidence of trespassing, it is the sheriff's equipment and will carry more weight with the judge and jury should the matter end up in court.

Proving the trespass is easy...just like fingerprints are unique so is the backgound...treebark patterns, tree stem placement and species, other features...all unique...bring law enforcement there and have them take another picture...problem is the suspect in the photo is trespassing on the other neighbors property so he(the other neighbor) would have to make the complaint.

Another problem is the guy was not on phoneguy44's property. The camera was on the line facing his neighbors property so if he can't prove the guy took the camera then phoneguy can't do anything. I hate to see a thief get away with anything so lets just hope the sheriff can scare him into giving it back.
