I like the potential applications of this product, however I desire the pivot portion to be closer to the tree. My HC600 cams all have a threaded hole dead senter on the back of the cam. I would rather have it more "flush" with the tree than have it offset. I imagine a shorter bracket with just enough room to pivot up and down 20 degrees would be sufficient. I just dont want the back of the camera to be 5" away from the tree when installed. Could the distance be cut in say.....half?

The distance from the tree to the 1/4-20 stud is 2.5". I settled at this distance after experimenting with a bunch of different cameras and positioning configurations.

I've got some other versions on the drawing board (and quite a few in the scrap metal bin too  ). Slay, I'll send you a PM if I come up with something like you are envisioning. I like request, they get me to thinking, some of my best products have grown from the seed of a request. :P Heck, you've already got me thinking....I've got a version that I've been piddling with for about a year...it's very similar to the security box swivel that Camlock recently came out with. I might offer interchangeable balls so that the user could choose a 1/4" stud for use with a rear "tripod" hole camera, or choose a 5/16" stud for use with a security box....just thinking out loud...

Slay, would you want this to be something that screwed into the tree by hand, no tools required. Or is it acceptable to require some basic tools, such as a ratchet, extension, and socket?

I'm leaving my office for a few hours, so I'll be a little delayed in replying...

Placed an order with Pat on the 4th of July.....3 days later I have a package at my door, got one of his PTM's, the new PTM quick change mount and one of his screw in mini mounts (all for my M80's). Have to say I was very surprised when I opened the box, these are some NICE mounts. Anybody looking for a high quality mount give Pat a yell, his stuff is jamb up! Looking forward to installing them this weekend.....

Thanks Pat!

Oh man, Slay, you don't know the half of it  I'm on vacation this week from my auto repair business...spending my vacation working at my daughter's house...tearing down an old rotten privacy fence...the only thing holding up the fence is all the trumpet vines and grape vines that are growing on it....removing all the vegatation is a project all unto itself...there's 6" of topsoil, then it's all rock...I've been using a jack hammer to dig the new fence post holes...and it's 103+ degrees here in Texas!....all this going on while I try to deal with my aging parents, who have started getting 3 days older every day...I'm ready to go back to work so I can relax.
Every morning as I'm getting more tools out of my shop to take with me for the fence project; I look at some various modified pivoting mounts that are sitting on my work bench, they cry out to me "Hey Pat, what about us?"....so I end up thinking and pondering about them while I make the hour drive to my daughter's house....so I guess I'm making some progress

Wow I really want one of these. A strap and sticks is a real pain in the rump patch! When will they be back in stock?

It may be a month or more before I have them back in stock; I'm considering a few design changes to the PTM for 2012, as I've had some request to make it shorter...I'll have to do some experimenting. My 85 year old mother passed away last week, so I've got my hands full right now....
