Does anyone have a broken Uway XtendIR that you would part with the door from it?I had a battery leak and ruin the bottom door of one.

I have an extra remote to an NT50B if you know anyone who wants another.

Blues, have you tried to attach an external batt pack to the Xtend's external batt port? The port looks undamaged in the photo. That might tell you if the electronics were damaged. Good luck-hope it works that way.

I think if you take some sandpaper to that other rusty/corroded contact you may be fine.

Thats what using cheap batteries does. They were Kodak batteries.Afraid to check my other XtendIR's as I think I have the same batteries in several of them.Hopefully not and will be swapped out today if I can get around to them.
I will try the sandpaper.
Can't come up with a wire to check with an external.I need to keep a spare here at home.

Got the XtendIR to work using an external battery.Tried the sandpaper John but no success.I will just run it off an external here in the home plot.
Thanks for the ideas.

Glad it's working, those contacts probably only connect the positive from one set of batteries to the negative of the others, maybe there's corrosion on the contacts up in the camera? Does the non shiny contact in the pic have a minus sign on it?

put your meter on ohms, if you're using the ideal pocket meter I think you slide the switch all the way up. You will probably see a 1 if it's the digital meter, if you touch the red and black leads together it should go to zero. Once you have the meter set up touch the tab with the plus with one lead and the one with the minus with the other lead and see if the meter zeros out.
