After testing the camera can you explain the problems you found with the foam fix ? (in detail)

I am not sure Anthony if you were directing the ?? to me about testing the foam fix. No I did not try the cameras out at all. But when I hear of a product on the market that has a TEMPERARY FIX, then If I have the choice, especialy that I am going to buy 4 or 5 of these bad boys, then I want the camera with the real deal fix, not some foam product that could come apart with inclimate weather. Thanks

We were told by Bushnell that the foam solution was sound, non-temporary, worked and built to last.

Cabelas does not have the real deal in the camo ver. of the trail cam i just recieved a week ago.PIR is still the same ...Since this is probubly one of the newest versions.....i would have to say this problem has not been corrected in any of these cams(correct me if I am wrong) ...but I still feel these cams are better than my Cud. no flash. This is actually my second trophy cam and Im very satisfied with BN.
and as far as the pir sensor issue. I think it could even be an advantage to have the wider pickup for faster moving animals

Bass Pro in Missouri also does not have the real deal. The PIR senses too far to the left or right of the camera for the lens of the camera to get the picture.

Can this be fixed with black electric tape so that the warranty isnt voided or is it best to just put it into 3 pic mode and have lots of pics of nothing?

Let me know ideas of what people are doing? I hate to send it back to Bushnell so close to deer starting to make scrapes and rubs as I fear I won't get it back in time for the magic time?

I thought all trail camera "sensed" further right and further left of the cameras field of view but I've only had experiance with WIldview and Wildgame cameras... Each of the cameras I have sense futher right and further left of the field of view of the camera and also sense past the flash range of the camera....

I just bought a Bushnell Trophy cam from Cabelas last month. It is going back to them ASAP. Battery life was about 1 day. I put in new batteries again, turned it on to format and the darn thing started smoking! No kidding! I wonder if it was a pre 2009 model? Anyone else have this problem? Thanks. :(

Huntress,

First, after you got 1 day on the original batteries - did you put a battery tester on the batteries after you pulled them from the camera? You may have had a bad battery. One single bad battery will bring the voltage down on the whole set.

second, Is it possible you inserted your batteries in the wrong direction?

Each time the batteries were properly installed. When I took the old ones out I tested them. They were all at full power. I did that both times. In fact my hunting partner even loaded a set and the didn't last either. At least it didn't smoke but the last time! Thank you.

It is in the mail to Cabelas. If I remember correctly, when setting the time for the first time, the date that was on it was 2008. I got a little nervous about that due to all of the earlier problems. My two Predators are still working great. I just wanted a smaller one to be able to hide it from the tresspassers!
