I don't understand how these work? How do they sync with your cameras?

A cable runs from the XtendIR to your camera and a sensor is placed over an LED on your camera. When the LED on your camera turns on the sensor activates the XtendIR's array.

The red flash version will be $79. I am guessing the black flash version will be around $129.

I may have to invest in a black flash version.

That is pretty reasonable pricing.

Anthony,

This is good for synchronization, but how about some pic from the other side. A pic from camera X with and without the XtenderIR. I would expect some cameras would benefit much more than others. My questions include:

Does this really extend the illumination range much with a camera that already has good illumination or does is just enhance the flash by providing more light at the same distance? Does it cause issues with over-illumination at short distances? This also opens the door to overhead and side illumination, I'd like to see how that works.

Thanks,

Jack

I got an email from HCO on 11/4 with this title: "Uway Flash Extender - Available on Nov.16th"

I have not seen it on any vendor sites for pre-order yet.

When I get one I will perform the tests and make the results available.

Looks as if you could convert all your trail cams to a black flash camera. Cover up all IR's except 1 to set off the black flash extender. Loads of possibilities?
