We have been using several of out Scoutguard cameras in the video mode and in most cases we have used a setting of 25 to 50 seconds with a 15 second delay period. We have totally enjoyed these cameras and just how well they function. We began to notice that we were getting 50 to 100 videos per week and the first few seconds had the culprit who triggered in it for a short period then we would have to set there and twiddle our thumbs until it was over and the next trigger would happen. By accident one of the cams got set up with only a 10 second video followed by a 6 second delay and wow this was nice. No more setting there and watching empty woods. With the short delay and excellent trigger of the Scoutguard, if motion was still there then the cam would fire again and record. If the first triggering critter had exited the area then the cam would just set there until triggered again by the next varmint that entered the sensing zone. This will only be good on the new cams like Buckeye, new Leaf river IR 5/7 and Scoutguard cameras which have short delay periods and fast trigger times.

The important thing is this: We seemed to have gathered the same amount of data and used much less card space.

I have almost 60 some videos of almost 40 seconds from 3 days and 4 nights out, most of them are in the windy sunny day with nothing in them, and I can't figure out what was triggering them at night, only 1 has a deer in it, but it's possible that small animals live under the log it was over, below the camera lense, maybe.
I'm dialing the level down to medium.
