So much for testing them all before they leave........ I just opened a new SG560 (no viewer) this afternoon and the remote has a problem. When you plug it in if you wiggle it around it will flash the screen blue but not stay on........any of my other remotes work it just fine.......now this did not just happen after it was shipped.

also another new SG560 I set out last week with new (yes I checked all 8 of them) Procell Duracells (USA Made Version) took 30 pics first afternoon then shutdown, battery meter still all 3 bars (I have found battery life to be exceptional when no photos are taken). Sandisk 2gb cards, yes I know how to format them and yes did format them with the camera. I set all cams to 1 minute interval and 2 photos as I have always done.

All I have heard is how great these are and this afternoon when I ran cams the 15 old Moultrie D40s ran great and some are 3 or 4 years old. Now don't get me wrong as I have had many Moultrie problems with the D40s (kept the postman employed), but they cost $89 not $209. I have set out 5 new SG560 last week and 2 of them did not even run all day the first day. Kinda tired of the trips to the Post Office (I know all the mailmen by first name now so I guess I got to make a lot of new friends) so I bought the HCO's, well at least I get to rekindle the old friendships at the Post Office

It is normal for me to get over 1,000 pics per cam per week (feed 1,300 lb of rice bran a week). The SG560 takes exceptional quality photo when they run like they are supposed to but I will give up photo quality any time for dependability.......

Kinda rubs on you when buying that much feed, buy 5 new high rated guaranteed factory tested cams and hustling around to run cams when it is 102 degrees and the very first cam you run with such high hopes ain't hit a lick since last Sunday and the next (brand new) one you walk about a quarter to setup and the remote won't hit a lick on that one....had to walk back to get another remote to set it up but it did seem to work with it. Only spent a bit over $1K the last two weeks on SG560 Scoutguards so I guess I really shouldn't expect any better. Asked on here yesterday about the dark pics from the 3 I got last week and was informed there will be a firmware upgrade in 2 or 3 weeks (shortly) but if I just couldn't wait I could run them on video mode......WELL if I had the money back in my hand right this minute I would send HCO about $20 bucks and tell them the rest should be ready in 2 to 3 weeks (shortly:::waiting on the ink to dry) but if they just couldn't wait...........nevermind I need to take a breathe now.

Sent HCO an email this afternoon about the remote that did not work, no reply yet, but not really disappointed tho as none was really expected. Did reset the 2 that shutdown and will see how they do on the 2nd setup. (and actually checked all the batteries again just to be sure).

If it is the image quality problem, then the latest release of FW 2.0 and the upcoming release will solve the problems. If it is a mal-function camera, then please contact your dealer.

Just FYI, our return rate for 2008/2009 models (including the 2009 Bushnell) is less than 1%. Our return rate for 2010 models so far is less than 0.1%. Hope this gives you an idea how seriously we handle quality control and customer satisfaction.

BMC,
Bought 4 SG560 last 2 weeks and 1 SG560V last week (5 total) , I do not know how much plainer to state that 2 of the 5 have not run more than 24hrs with out just STOPPING. That is 40% for ME......I just came from setting them out again to make sure I did not do anything wrong setting them up. Setup with new (tested) USA made Procell Duracells and new 2gb Sandisk card. Formatted the SD cards with the cameras, set on 1 photo, 30 second interval, camera mode, and this time set them to 3mp to see if that makes any difference. Will check them again in a couple of day and respond.

Both are v1.08

All were purchased from "On Line" dealers so I can't imagine dealing with them for malfunctions being easy.

Thanks
Mark Anthony

First let me say that I was incorrect in the above post to assume that a Online Dealer wouldn't be "easy to deal with" in the above post as I was Hot at the moment.

I received RMA number from HCO on the SG 560 remote that DOA. I am dropping in the mail this afternoon. HCO has been very responsive to this so far. Will keep posted on return of the unit. The dealer for this unit was outdoorsupplies.me and he was very helpful getting HCO to contact us and offered to replace the remote but thought it would be quicker to send it directly to HCO.

HCO also told me they would issue RMA for the 2 new SG560 that are experiencing shut downs if needed. I told them and the dealer to wait that I had reset them this week and would check later in the week to see if they had stopped again. If so I will have to send them back also. Also the Online dealer these came from has told me he would replace them if I wished, but I told him I would go thru HCO direct first to get this resolved. The dealer has been great to deal and communicate with. Dealer was trailcamsnmore.com and they have been very responsive.

All in all so far getting good customer service from both of the dealers and manufacturer. Will keep posted.

OK Mailed the bad remote (DOA when i got it) yesterday afternoon 8/17/10. Cost me 5 bucks to send it priority mail (really do not like having to go to the post office AND spend 5 bucks for item that was DOA).

Also, will probably check the 2 sg560's that have been shutting down today to see if how long they ran since setup last Saturday. Will keep posted.

I recieved the remote back that was DOA on Saturday Aug 28th. 10 day turn around from the time it was shipped. HCO must have repaired it because I am pretty sure it is the one I sent them. Anyway it WORKS.

Thankyou HCO for prompt service.

I still have not sent 2 of the SG 560s I have been having trouble getting to run all week. They seem to be working longer at a time since it has cooled down a touch. Still running them and keeping up with when they shutdown each week. The other 4 560's I bought during July have run flawlessly.
