 Post subject: Signal bars on sg580???

I have noticed that I receive full bars on my phone but the camera is only receiving one - two bars . I have even removed the antenna just to see if it changes, but no change ! Do you think I have a bad camera or maybe a bad sims card . The batteries are lithium brand I just installed , sometime a receive pics and some times I don't but the camera is still taking pics . Also the pir seems a little slow.

make sure that EVERY memory card you use in the camera has a correctly written profile.ini file or else the unit will try to use the factory settings (which don't work).

The exact thing happens to me with my iPhone and Little Acorn MMS camera. You have a good signal on your iPhone but the Little Acorn says differently.

Be aware that the bars on your at&t phone lie. There was a consumer class action suit against at&t based on letters from at&t to nokia and other phone manufactures to increase the number of bars displayed when faintly connected to an at&t network cell with an at&t approved phone.

had the same issue. I had good bars then they dropped off and the camera quit sending photos after 2 months. Sent it in and they said it was fine then while on the phone I had him turn on another one and tell me if it had more bars then mine. His reply. Guess I will send you a new one. New one worked like a champ for 1 month now it is hit and miss even with new bats.

I guess it's possible that the carrier is changing their coverage area. I used to have to call AT&T every six months to get coverage turned back on at my ranch home. Their technicians would reshape their signal pattern to cover new neighborhoods and drop me in the process.

Not coverage area. Totally the camera. Tested at home (Indianapolis) and in the field. It is the camera.
