I picked up one of these cameras a couple of weeks ago for my cabin. I have game cameras but they are just not fesable for me to use inside the cabin without being seen/stolen. So I thought i would write a review in case anyones else was looking for something like this. NOTE>>>I am no way affiliated with the place I bought the camera from or the makers of the camera.
Here is where I ordered from.http://eyespysupply.com/air-ionizer-sel ... ght-v.html I checked all around and they had the best price and I could pay with paypal. I wanted the paypal option in case something went wrong and I had to make a dispute. I ordered the color/bw option. I paid $6.00 extra to have it delivered 2 day UPS. That was a mistake...I found out later by just using the free shipping it would have arrived in 2 days anyhow.
Camera arrived on time with no damage. I didnt like the case the camera came in. It was just a black box. It would have been better if the inside was molded to hold the camera in place. Its just put inside and can slide around during shipping.
Directions...to put it simple they suck. They are confusing and I had to read thru a bunch of times.
Camera...Cosmetics good. You would be hard pressed to know there was a camera in there.
Placement of light sensor is not good. Its tucked away on top so to get color pics you have to have light hitting it from above. With just the dog sitting next to it the camera would switch to b/w mode.

Notice the add says the fan blows air. That is not true. There is no fan inside to blow air. I called eyespy and they gave me the number to the company that makes the camera. Company said there is no fan to blow thru vents...just a small one for the components to keep them cool. Called eyespy back and told them what I was told and asked why they advertised it on there web site. Was told they would look into it and if its not true they would change the ad. Hasnt been changed in over 2 weeks.

Tried out camera at home and it went haywire. It would record for no reason, it wouldnt record when it was suppose to, and kept going from b/w to color for no reason. Took it up to the cabin and re-read the directions for the 20th time. Left in cabin for 2 hours while we went out and the same thing was happening. The camera would never record me walking up to unplug it. Will continue in a sec

Called eyesupply and told them of the problem. The gave me the number to the manufacturer again and I told a tech there what was going on. He walked me thru a couple of things and then said to return it. I asked if I should send it to them or eyesupply and they said to call eyesupply to see how they want it done. I am getting pissed about now because I felt they should have known the answer about sending it back. Called eyesupply and the guy was extremely polite and said I could either send it back or get a refund. Long story short I ended up sending it back to the manf.

Took 1 1/2 weeks to get it back. Not bad

Just got it back tonight and the same thing with not recording me walking up and unplugging the camera is still going on. I kept messing with it for 2 hours (making sure settings were correct and adjusting motion detection sensor). Then it dawned on me. The camera did fine recording when I went into the room and walked back out. It started, stopped and recorded when it was suppose to. I believe what happens is the video dosent get saved to the card until after the motion stops and camera stops recording. With me walking up to the camera and unplugging it dosent have the time to save the movie. That is fine with me because someone would have to break into the cabin and go straight to the camera and unplug it for me not to get them recorded. I figure the last thing they are going to steal is a air ionizer. Would have been nice if something like that was mentioned in the directions.

Overall bad points
Carrying case
Directions
Watching video on your computer (you can also plug camera into tv and watch that way with no problem) You have to go online and download current audio codecs in order for it to play. (Camera dosent record audio) I have a brand new computer and I still have to do this.
Manuf not knowing where it should be sent back to.
Light sensor in bad spot

Overall good points
Cosmetics
Pic quality..I have been using the med quality. Its slightly grainey but you can see it good. I am going to switch it to high quality and that should make it more clearer. Need larger video card.
Camera comes with video card already in place.
When set up right camera starts immediatly with slight movement in room.
You can set camera to loop card or stop when full.
Good night pics in total blackness. (well almost total..night light gives off some light)
Good color pics.
Rep at eyespy. Was always polite and didnt hesitate to offer money back. (It still irritates me about them advertising it blows air out though)

Bottom line...Now that I figured out how to work the camera it will give me some peace of mind for when I cant get up to the cabin for a few weeks and during the winter when its shut down.
For me it was worth the price.

Camera dosent take still pics...everytime I say pics here I mean video.

Top view. Notice the little white on the top. That is light sensor. When its plugged in there isnt much space for light to get to it to change vids from b/w to color.

I was thinking the same thing too. Could even use a transformer with correct voltage so you wouldn't have to worry about batteries, and maybe even wire an actual working fan on it, behind the camera.
