Where I work at we've had items come up missing. We already have several security cameras in place. We've not been able to catch our thief. There is a section of the building that doesn't have video cameras. We're wanting to put out a camera in different areas of the outside property. Near doors and gates and possibly around the inside of the building. From what I've read the Bushnell Trophy Cam 119436C appears to be a nice camera. However, I am worried about the flash. On Amazon it says the flash isn't detectable by human eye, but then I've read where people have said the red flash is noticeable. I borrowed a Moultrie M-100 and the flash on it really stood out. So my question is:

Would the Bushnell work okay or would I need to upgrade to the black flash version? I've seen a lot of complaints about the night pictures on the black flash. Are the pictures really that bad? Any suggestions and ideas would be helpful including different cameras.

I have the bushnell 119466 low glow camera, yes the pics are dark and grainy because of the low glow leds. The picture quality is better than i thought it would be after hearing negative things about the night pics. This cam also takes great HD Videos with audio.
Here is an example of the average night pic i get Image

Nice picture quality. I've seen some other videos and pictures and most of them looked pretty good.

Welcome to CG.
A "red blob" camera can be quite noticeable when it flashes, if the subject is looking in the right direction.
You could go with a cam that has high-output "black flash," like a Reconyx, but those are more expensive than the Bushnell. Also be aware that almost any IR-illumination cam is going to have motion blur in the night images, and they'll all be black-and-white photos, so there might be some loss of information like clothing colors, etc. Video is one way around the motion blur, and if it has sound, that could prove useful, too.

But maybe knowing he was photographed will make the thief do a "risk-benefit analysis," and decide to steal from some other place, where they're not trying so hard to catch and prosecute him. Put a small sign under the cam so that once he sees the flash, it might draw his attention to the sign: "The ones you don't see are watching you, too."

Conceal the cam well, or lock it up well. (You can do both, but it's not easy.)
Hope you catch the thief or thieves.

Make sure to share your results. I'm hoping for a picture with an expression like this in it
