5lb. meat- I like to do 4 pounds chop meat and a pound or so of cubed meat, venison of course
24 oz, or about of diced tomato with juice
2-1/2 pounds kidney beans (40.5 oz) drained but not rinsed
1 bell pepper- chopped
1 medium sized onion- chopped
5 tablespoons chili powder
1 or 2 or 3 jalapeno peppers, take the veins out if you want but I don't- diced
brown 4 pounds of the meat and set aside then brown the remaining meat with the peppers and onions. I couldn't find any decent jalapenos but I did find some diced tomatoes at walmart that had chili peppers in with it. mix all the stuff together and put in a large crockpot. cook on high for the first hour and then low for 7 more hours. stir every hour or so. when it's done serve in a bowl and sprinkle a little schredded cheese on top or add a teaspoon of sour cream (or both).
I had a few squirrels last year that I browned in a frying pan then put on top of the chili to cook, the meat fell off of the bone.

Heaven seems a little closer when you're sitting in a treestand.
