My test show that after I switched the 476c to widescreen it out sensed my 466 on trails (not by much).
Very interesting, I never tried that when I owned mine. I wonder how switching to widescreen changes the sensing capabilities. I thought the wide and full screen options were simply a function of software programming. I did notice that my "wide screen" pics weren't really wider but rather they were just "full screen" pics with a portion of the top and bottom cut off to make them just
appear wider.
Hey Anthony, Can you help us out with this? How does switching a cam to "wide screen" mode increase its sensing?
I also switched from 720 video to 480 at the same time. I am not certain that the widescreen or lower video quality is the cause for certain. I ran the tests 3 times before the switch and was about ready to send the 476c back but after changing those 2 setting it really shined. Again, this could be some strange coincidence but it played out in all tests after the switch. The other thought on this is that the 1st tests were on a 90 degree day and after the switch it has been 60-85 degrees. Maybe the 466 is better in the heat? Whatever it is, the 476 has been better lately.
I actually like that the widescreen chops off the top of the photo because this makes the files smaller and all I lose is some of the tree tops in all of my photos (no deer up there

).
