I'm thinking I just got the rare bad cam. I had to send my first 466 back to Bushnell but the three I have now have performed flawlessly for almost a year. I'm going to wait and see if the other guys report any problems and if they don't I will buy another 476.
I have been reading posts and reviews for the last few days trying to determine which cam is the best to buy (not the $500 models). I have read numerous complaints that the first one or two units had to be returned before getting a good one. This is from all makes of the mid priced cams. I have two of these in the mail right now, I am hoping they are good ones.
Why is it that a simple camera/motion system has so many problems? There is only a camera, a flash, a motion sensor and a program that makes them all talk. What keeps failing?
It's what happens when you use the cheapest component available, and the cheapest manufacturing possible, in order to meet a low price point, instead of competing on quality. I can't think of another industry that produces any product with the same failure rate we see in the trail cam market. It really is spectacular, but will definitely continue as long as folks keep buying them.
