For quite a few days I have been trying to get some night pics of deer at around 35 feet. As the days passed I noticed the pic count getting less and less and in the last 2 nights absolutely zero night pics yet all the corn was gone. Yesterday I did some walk tests for sensing which requires the switch to be moved to the set-up position so that the red light will come on when the cam senses. Long story short---it would not sense me past 26 feet with setting on high. I remembered that when I had a similar problem with a 466 it was because the batts were weak but I thought, no that's not possible already. After about ten minutes of walking in front of the cam and trying different settings and aim the blue light came on. In 12 days the new and pre tested Energizer Advanced Lithiums went from 1.74V to 1.41 volts and still dropping when I stopped testing---I had seen enough. I sent the cam back for a refund today. I hope you guys that own them have better luck but I was not willing to take a second chance. I'm dissapointed but at least I made it under the 14 day return window.

Thanks for the report!
I hope someone else runs more tests on battery life.

I'm thinking I just got the rare bad cam. I had to send my first 466 back to Bushnell but the three I have now have performed flawlessly for almost a year. I'm going to wait and see if the other guys report any problems and if they don't I will buy another 476.

I have been reading posts and reviews for the last few days trying to determine which cam is the best to buy (not the $500 models). I have read numerous complaints that the first one or two units had to be returned before getting a good one. This is from all makes of the mid priced cams. I have two of these in the mail right now, I am hoping they are good ones.

Why is it that a simple camera/motion system has so many problems? There is only a camera, a flash, a motion sensor and a program that makes them all talk. What keeps failing?

Interesting report. Hopefully you just got a bad one! I deployed 3 into the woods Sunday so it'll be awhile before I know anything on those. The other one is still monitoring swan pond. It picked up my lab at nearly 20 yds but that was fresh out of the gate. I'll have to wait a week and toss the ball out and see where it triggers. Jury's still out. I'm running Rayovac alkalines. The cam does take some nice pics however. Curious to see how it peforms in the woods.

your cam was really getting it on : i hope your cam is like my 466:one of the few that has had any problems. it started out great but then something changed. i just put my 466 back on picture to see if the motion blur has cleared up. the video were great but it had no sound but wind blowing. i will have to wait a little longer before returning my 466 i thought i knew what to beg for when i returned it. i wish i knew more about the duration of the flash on there ir cams.the 446 nightime pictures that were posted were excellent. there has also been some very impressive pictures from, i believe the 336, is it the 2012 model. when you posted with the deer way out there,at 140 foot or so i thought for sure we had our cam.
the x-8,the 327 may not be as fancy as a lot of other cams but i will probably have to grab one before to much is known about it. if it is the replacement for the 325 i can,t stop myself. at least bushnell knows how to improve their cams. when they say they are working on problems it appears that they are. we are getting closer to april fools day, this year it will be independence day. truly hazelvillebucks

I pulled it from the pond a few days ago - I'm bringing it to Nebraska with me on a turkey hunting trip. Will know more in a week!
