I downloaded it to all 3 of my HC600s.
I'll let ya know in a few days, but I doubt it is anything that the user will notice.
I think it's just maybe some external exif data stuff for repair purposes?

If they crap out...well, then I guess I will reload the last firmware....LOL

I brought this 500 back from the mountains to clean it up and while it was here I downloaded the software. I wanted to see if any body that downloaded saw anything different after they used their cam. I want to put mine back in service in the mountains to be sure before I say anything. nothing bad... :)

I checked all 3 of my cams this morning. I didnt notice much, cept the daytime pics seem just a tad more focused. Of course, it could have just been the amount of available light that day. 2 of them seem to have a diminshed flash, but I think the lithium batteries are just getting a little weaker. Hard to say, I have been using the same batteries since May....LOL

I am noticing cams coming out of flash mode closer to sunrise ,
and cams staying in day mode closer to sunset.
Yes, there is no tree canopy, and infrequent snow cover.
I am basing my belief on more than 45,000 pics since change-over.

dhunts,
With that many pictures, I am sure you would know.
Do you think that it's better having the cam come into day mode earlier and staying there longer?
I'm just wondering if the pics are looking better during the transition periods or are they getting washed out by lack of available lighting?

I would say 70% of the time they are very good .
I catch myself hitting back arrow when viewing to find when c\o took place.
Still giving me very usable info, and always catching the event!

Briefly talked about this topic yesterday with Thomas at Reconyx.
His feeling is when Reconyx offers new firmware, it is to our benefit
to use it.
