Can someone tell me how to post pictures . I am getting terrible pictures with my hyperfire 800 and I wanted to post some of them for you guys to look at . Reconyx keeps telling me there is nothing wrong , the daytime pictures are the worst.

Thanks

Don

Without some sample pics to view, it is hard to say.
Lotsa times it is a matter of distance, flash intensity, background foilage, camera angle, and picture resolution....

You won't find a company better to stand behind their products. If the camera is broke they will fix it.

Please understand I am not bashing Reconyx , I have 5 cameras all old style with the exception of the one PC800. Hands down the pictures from all old style Reconyx cameras are better. I sold one rc55 to buy the PC800 and have regretted it everyday .

Reconyx has always taken care of me and they have given me a RMA to return this one , but this will be the second time back .

Cameras I have

RC65ho Matthews
RC60ho
RC65
RC65
PC800

Thanks

Don

Don't give up. I'm also still experimenting with my PC800. The first photo is with the "Balanced" night mode. The second is with "Max Range". After the first photo I turned the camera slightly to the left and tilted it up a few degrees. The flash seems bright and the little Pine on the right is about 35' from the camera. The ground falls away further up the hill so you can't see how far it really goes. Admittedly, I get quite a few blurred photos with this camera but it's only 17' off the trail. If it was farther back, it probably would help eliminate some of this. I think the Balanced setting will probably be the best for closer in photos and I'm going to next take it to an open area to try the Max Range again. Stay tuned.

That last pic is great, it really shows how far that flash will go. What type of batteries are you running?

Since you clearly know how the older models functioned, then I would have to agree that maybe the hyperfires arent as good as they are. I know my RC60HO seemd to take better pics than my HC600. But it wasnt a ton of difference between them.
Truthfully, I like having the ability to adjust the flash. That and the smaller size of the camera are what I like the best.

I do think that using the C cell NIHMs in the RC60HO made for a better brighter flash than what the lithium AA batteries produce in the hyperfires.

My hc600 is waiting an rma for it's second time back. The first was to fix the focus. Now there is something wrong with the IR. My night pics are very poor.

Pain to have it sent in two times in about a year, but the good thing is the reconyx folks will get is sorted.
