2 year old cam used for 8 weeks over 2 seasons. cam out of warranty
Took cam down from air conditioned closet yesterday & loaded new batteries and formatted 1 G card.

At first not much happened and then red light flickered on. LCD showed 0000 after 4-5 minutes and I had to keep fudging with buttons to get date & time loaded.

Green light flickered like it was going to sense & take pic but no go.

I called Primos this morning and nice lady said that if SD Cards were formatted to Fat 32 and camera did not work there was nothing Primos could do. Sh e advised Primos does not work on cams out of warranty. I asked what were other options and she said "you will have to purchase a replacement"

The cam was not abused and looks new......but acts like firmware is " buggy" from not being used?
Any help out there?

Well, all I know is you could buy one of the refurbished TC 35's from Natchez Shooters Supply, and hope it works better. If it doesn't, at least it will be under warranty.

They're $56.99 each, or $49.99 each if you buy two or more.

Thank you.
I wonder why Primos doesn't refurbish a 2 year old cam like I currently have?

Leave the batteries in the cam and leave it turned on.I had the same problem you are experiencing and it seems as though some internal parts that normally are " charged" lose that charge after sitting for a long while.Give it a week with fully charged batteries and see if it will start working properly.

Cam was working when it was put up so its worth a try.

Primos sent an email today & said I could return the out of warranty cam+$70 and they would send a new 2012.

Thanks again

You can order one from Amazon for only $7.99 more, and you won't have the hassle and expense of shipping the defective camera to Primos.

Thanks for doing all the legwork.
I'm going to let it simmer in the backyard for a week and see if it comes back to life.........if it does great... but realistically for how long will it work is the question.

This cam was in first 750 sold in 2010 so some of the issues were hiding (I only used it on food plots a few weeks each year - made clunk sound) and time caught up with me.
I really liked the simplicity of the cam an I think I can go $75-80 for a 2012 model-especially if they have quieted the clunk.

I'll let you know how it turns out,
Thank you

Well I'm really liking mine so far, but I've only had it since January (2012) and only had it deployed for about 8 weeks now. So I'll just have to wait and see how it holds up. But for now it's doing well. I'm really tempted to try a couple of the refurbished 35's from Natchez for $49.95 each. But I'm king of waiting for someone else to try them first. :)

The 35 starting taking pictures several days after I originally posted so I tried different settings.....it failed & seemed to lock up so....no go. I turned off for 1 hour & removed batteries.

Formatted Fat 32 on 2 gig Sandisk, installed batteries and turned it on.

I then set it for photos at 10 sec delay and after a day it seemed to wake up & do quite well.....

I let it take 1400 pics of vehicles passing the yard, dog walkers , and runners.

I full formatted 2 cards at Fat32 setting and tried a PNY & Sandisk.

Approximately 1600 total pictures on the 3 cards and battery level at 60%.

Picture quality is good...day excellent and Par for night shots.

It seems the winter layoff on the shelf will eventually ruin the cam and Primos advised there is no firmware fix.

Good luck with the cams

I bought 2 of these from Natchez recently - both have the loud filter/shutter CLUNK and one is malfunctioning with other problems. Placed a call to Primos customer service and filled out their "ticket request" form, but haven't heard a thing back yet :(

Thanks for being the guinea pig! I guess I'll scratch them off my list.

Good plan! I am currently on hold with Primos customer service and "caller #12 in line with a hold time of 27 minutes". They told me I would have a RA# issued yesterday after I filled out a ticket request online earlier in the morning, but no. Not happy with either the refurbs or Primos response/availability. If the price seems too good to be of any value, it probably is...........
