Never heard of it. Please keep us posted. I'm going to check their website for more info on this. I've got the Tiny W2 which has been working almost flawlessly for a month now.

If I understand correctly, you can access your camera via the Spypoint website and make changes to the camera while it is soaking in the bush. You can see battery status and a calendar pops up and view each day's activity. Is this correct? If so, WOW!!!!
I hate to see what the price is.

From some reviews I've read, the Tru doesn't sound like a real good deal; $30 to buy the SIM? Some other concerns were mentioned here <http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php/1732168-quick-tru-sim-review>.

It looks like it's doing some kind of "roaming-but-not-roaming" thing:
"*it works well in good tmo areas and att areas, however if the tmo service is iffy and you only have 1 bar of service and you know there is great att service, the tru sim will try its best to stay on the tmo tower. thus getting crappy service"
"it worked every place I wanted it to work, the place where tmo had only 1 bar was my place in okeechobee fla, so tmo fringe areas probably aren't the best. because on a fringe it wont go over to att." (Quoted direct from the first post on the thread at Howard Forums.)

And this: "Since your credit card is going to be billed from the UK you will get an international transaction fee added (1-3ish% depending on the card) and may very well get a fraud alert if you have never charged from outside the USA."

Also see <http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2381233,00.asp> and <http://www.zdnet.com/blog/cell-phones/tru-sim-peace-of-mind-and-significant-cost-savings-for-international-travel/6909>.

The LIVE seems to have a lot of cool features like remote configuration and the "shock" anti-tampering alert, but to me the subscription thing is the sticking point: "Subscription to mySPYPOINT is required to have a remote access to your pictures and your LIVE camera. An annual fee of 19.99$ (+ tax)/ per camera is charged for the activation of the account and to stock the pictures."

Just saw they make a item. Ant-live. It's a 16ft antenna extender for weak coverage areas

I hear that. We use U.S. Cellular, which has pretty good coverage around here, but their system is CDMA. I've tried both AT&T and T-Mobile SIMs, one in each LTL5210MM, and the results are about the same. Good coverage in some areas, not so good in a lot of places. That might be as much a problem with the cam as anything else, because I've already seen a difference in how my UM562 performs compared to the Acorns.

Go Phone SIMs can be tricky to get working in a cam. I think a word has to be three letters or longer to search the posts here, so "Go" won't work, but there still should be lots of info around here on how (or how not) to get set up with a Go Phone SIM. I just got "plain" SIMs for the one Acorn and later for my UM562, and asked the folks at the store to put the SIM in a phone and get a PIN (Personal Identification Number) for it, so I can manage the account online.

You might want to check the phone companies' coverage maps for the area where you want to use the cam, and see if AT&T has the best coverage there, or if T-Mobile might be the better choice for you. The Tru SIM might be okay, I'm just kinda leery of it. Maybe somebody on CG has used one, and can offer a different opinion.

well heres were im at on this project. I recieved my spypoint live from eders...First im pression was its bigger than i expected but i guess you have to have all that room for extra components. i ordered a lithium rechargable battery, lock box, solar panel and 16ft ant extension.

I ordered my sim card from tru sim but wont be here for 10 business days. I signed up for my spypoint acct and need the sim to move forward.

as far as usage for how much data ill have to pay for it seems that its going to be a little pricy...Im paying .17 cents per mb of data from tru

so if i add 30 dollars to my acct i will get 176 mb ...here is link on how much spypoint says each format for pictures is. the cool thing is you can have all thumbnails sent then only choose the pics you want and have cam resend larger format to spypoint website. Seems pretty easy...Maybe to good to be true. but it seems like everything was thought out...

im not sure how much data the diagnostics and other items the cam does to communicate with spypoint server uses...im williing to be it will get up around 50 bucks a month...

does anyone know how much other sim company's charge per mb

i havent even powered cam on yet as im waiting for my sim card but i may just test it in normal mode this weekend..
