Is it illegal to push a hidden camera in my cubical and monitor if someone mess around my computer ? I am in California. I suspect a fellow coworker messing with my cube and computer when I step aside or away.

It's best to consult a lawyer on legal stuff. Nobody here could defend you in court if you were charged with something, or get your job back for you if your company had a policy against it.
