I will install the new IR illuminator Bill manufactured tonight. I will create a project details page for it soon so you can understand the technology behind it.

I will include a write up and pictures. I should be able to get that in tonight.

I will post a message about it with a link.

ok, tonight I lowered the sensor for the illuminator a bit. already I have seen it working much better on a rabbit. Bring on the Critters !!

I added the details of the illuminator project on the Camera Projects page of the Chasingame website. Please check it out!

http://www.chasingame.com

then click on Camera Projects. Bill worked hard on this one. What do you think about it ?

I've seen at least 4 deer and the bunny tonight. Is the light that stays on the illuminator?

Yes it is. Make sure you read about the project. I placed the details on the website. The home page has a link as well as the camera projects.

can you post some of the pics you captured of the deer under the new illuminator ?

The illumnator never was on when the deer were there...I don't even think any of the cameras went off. It was at least 4 that stuck around for about 5-10 minutes. The rabbit was there a right good while and the illuminator didn't go off until it got near the celery pile...or just to the right of it. It went off when the rabbit was still in front of the cam. I guess it has to be tripped?

They were about everywhere at some point in time. Don't recall it lighting up.

I am going to have to work on the positioning of the sensor on the slave IR till I get it right for both small critteres and deer.

Please let me know if you see any deer and try and capture some photos so we can see what it looks like with the new camera I installed and the slave IR.

Good job!
