Okay, this was not in the woods but close enough.

I worked my way through college as a diver in the gulf of mexico. One summer I spent a few weeks cleaning welds on an oil platform with a water blaster and somehow lost the dive watch my girlfriend had given me. The next summer I am back working on the same rig, but about 40' deeper, when I see my watch laying on a cross member another 20' below me. This rig was in about 200' of water and my watch was lying there over a year at 100'.

So was the watch still ticking?

It was a self-winding watch so I think it had stopped but it was ticking again by the time I got out of the water.

Not really strange but on my way to hunt one afternoon I was walking down a gravel road and just as I was about to cross the fence to head into the woods I see something shiny laying in the road. I go over to investigate and it's a class ring from the 50s. I was probably 13 or 14 at the time so I gave the ring to my Mom and she was actually able to track the owner down. The story goes that him and his girlfriend at the time used to go to a rock quary to make out and one day she got mad at him and threw his ring at him. He said the looked and looked for the ring but never found it.

The only other strange thing that happened to me while in the woods. I was going to check some cows that were calving late at night. It was pitch dark. So I'm driving around in the truck about to get out and all of a sudden the sky lights up like it's daylight outside. It says that way for 10 seconds or so then goes back dark again. I never found out for sure but I think it was a meteor that flew overhead.

I saw a meteor shower last year. Was amazing it lit the entire area up like day as you mentioned. I did see 3 of them flying over. Heard about 15 huge booms as well. Like huge fireworks going off miles away. That is for sure the strangest thing I have ever witnessed.

Hunting with my father-in-law first day of bow season about 10 years ago here in Alabama on 300 acres of private land we had been invited to, first time there. After 2 hours of hunting he'd had enough and hit me up on the walkin talkie to tell me he was coming out. He had to come by me on his way out so I told him to come by my blind, help me pack up. 20 min later he comes over my walkin talkie "take your orange off and belly crawl out of there!" When I asked why he said "Your in the middle of a pot field!". Sure enough, I was smack dab in the middle of about a 5 acre field of the green magic and never noticed a thang.
I did take my orange off but no belly crawl. Packed up everything I could tote as quickly as I could, hurried to truck then went back for my hunting stuff

Hart to top the marijuana story but I have witnessed meteor showers quite often. Once I was walking to a turkey roosting area in the predawn darkness behind my brothers old house one spring morning and noticed faint green glow in the weeds on the ground. I read later it was called fox fire or something like that. It was really neat to see, it was all over the place.

I find tons of pot farms when I'm setting cams and shed hunting. You'd be very surprised at how many civilians in your neighborhood are growing pot. It's a huge business here on the island. I found a pot farm last winter with well over 100 plants on it.
