Yes - more like the armored cable but made from plastic.

I think them little buggers might still chew through it, but it would help for sure

Also known as "wire loom." Sometimes called "split wrap" or "spiral wrap," depending on the type.

I was thinking about duct tape with red pepper on it, but that would probably cause more problems than it would prevent.

That chewsafe looks like regular plastic tubing with a split down the side. That website said it discourages "most" chewing. I was thinking along the lines of electrical conduit or those braided stainless steel water lines, painted of course.

Feasibility requires two things:

1) Does the resistance in the long cable malfunction its synchronization timing
2) From an optical standpoint is there still a benefit with having the XtendIR so far away from the camera (ie are the photos any better)

Also if you could use say 20-30 feet of cable how are you going to string it up in the woods? To me that would be a real pain.

I'm trying to keep up with the timing on these to become available so thanks to Anthony and crew for the heads up! First couple sg550's we got worked flawlessly...great night shots. Last one all the night shots were totally worthless as the emitters barely glowed at all. Sent it back after 2 weeks for a replacement. Just got the replacement and exact same problem. Day shots seem to be good. Night shots worthless! Hate to have to spend another chunk of change on something to improve the night pics but frankly without some better emitters the new cams aren't worth the money at all.
Thanks to all you gurus who keep coming up with some good ideas for us less technical folk.

One day next week I am supposed to have an XtendIR in my hands. The first test will be before vs after tests with various cameras. We already know it triggers in synchronicity as we have seen the evidence.

The moment I get my XtendIR I will publish a notice..... 8)

gadeerwoman, did you try it with different SG's? Just wondering, as I have a SG that flashes, but the ir filter doesn't drop, so night pics are useless.
