I use stainless steel lags and place case hardened washers behind to get to the desired angle. In the small security boxes for Scoutguards or Bushnells, they are a lot harder to see without a Python cable circling the tree! I carry a screw gun in my trail cam bag and can remove a camera and place it on another tree in a minute or 2. A guy on E-bay sells case hardened lag bolts from API screw-in steps. His price is $35 for 50 bolts. I think I am going to order some!

I use the API lag bolts from ebay. They work great you must drill out the holes in the lock boxs. I just shim the box with a stick.

Got the API lag bolts. Man, that's what I've been looking for! They are case hardened, larger diameter threads, and 2 1/4" long. The heads are small, I believe 11mm, so I used a washer. As rt2bowhunter stated, you may need to drill out the hole. I sometimes use a stick to help turn the box right or left, too.

Also once you have it set just unlock it, change the cards and put it back--the aim remains true.
