04/11/2011 Contest Update: After suspicious activity with user names during the voting an extensive and complete analysis of all voting reveals the following:

Many contestants used their own ip address to create as many as 18 new users and vote for themselves. In many cases the contestant voted for himself using the same ip address as his regular ip address (so yes, we know exactly who you are). In other cases, one or more clumps of as many 5 or more new users were created using an ip address not associated with the contestant and used to vote. In this case, it would either be the contestant at his work computer for example or simply having friends or family create these users and vote.

Since each contestant entered the contest and did abide by the rules set, no one will be disqualified but we are ruling out the public voting for this contest. We had hoped for a moral and honest turn out in this format but because the forum software can't limit voting based on ip address, this sort of "working the system" is a problem.

A panel of judges drawn from those donating prizes who are not also contestants will rejudge the contest. Once the winners are official, those donating will recieve the mailing address of the winners from me and prizes will be shipped accordingly.

We appologise for the outcome and it has been a learning experience. I think everyone did enjoy the dynamics involved in public voting but because of the abuse of the system by certain contestants it just becomes unfair to those who genuinely obtained votes.

Please give us several days while we rejudge the photos.

Thank you,
Chasingame.com

Contest rules and Process:

There will be two contests. Each contest will be run at the same time.

Contestants much choose one or the other but not both.

Contest 1 will be for contestants using commercial cameras.
Contest 2 will be for contestants using homebrew cameras.

Contestants must be members on the Chasingame.com forum and must supply up to two photos preferably sized to 1024x768 (for best viewing). The photos should be taken from cameras that the member owns and be from the 2010/2011 hunting season, specifically September 2010 through 04/03/2011.

Each contest will be a separate topic on the forum.

The only posts allowed in the contest topics are by members entering the photo contest. There will be no comments or discussion about the photos in the contest topics themselves. Each contestant will post their picture(s) on the topic without the help of Chasingame (ie Anthony). 8)

Members will have through Sunday, April 3rd at 11:59am EST to get their favorites posted on the contest topic. At this time changes are prohibited and if done after this time will mean disqualification. Judging will begin at April 3rd 12pm (or as soon as you see the topic become a POLL). Members of Chasingame.com forum will vote on the topics (as a poll) selecting the member with the best overall photos on that topic. A single vote per member in each contest is permitted.

The contest voting will continue through April 10, 2011 at 12 noon EST. At that time the contest topics will be locked and the winners will be evident. At that time Ryan Wilson will handle all the overhead of getting everyone's shipping adresses and names/phone numbers for all the winners. 8)

Since we are running two contests there are two sets of First, Second, Third, Fourth and Fifth prizes. The member obtaining the most votes over all will also be the grand prize winner in addition to being a first place winner. In the event of a tie, Chasingame.com will decide the winner.

Note: I have tallied up the winners for the contests. At this point I need each winner to email me with their cg login and their full name and shipping address + phone number. The address can't be a P.O. Box.

Contest Prizes will be as follows:

First Place:
Uway NT50B
Uway NX50
LTL5210A “Little Acorn”
Python Cable

John Lockburner (JohnnyDeerHunter) is providing the build and final parts.

CamLockBox to fit the Acorn 5210A camera (Ryan Wilson)

Now personally I think this is ONE BIG contest... I wish the best of luck to all who participate and most of all thank those who are donating the merchandise and time to make this happen. Please visit their sites and remember their generosity.

A special thanks goes to Ryan Wilson for helping to organize this contest and help round up the donators of the prizes.

Oh... Each contestant must pay an entrance fee of $25 to Chasingame.com  (just kidding)

Wholly moly! This has got to be the hugest camera contest I have ever seen.
You guys rock! 8)

I think most deer season run from October through February, though there are probably a few whose licence year starts January first. I just wish it ran a bit longer. The best turkey pictures will be coming in April. You guys with homebrews are very fortunate, you get to enter both contests.

Thanks to all of you who are donating those excellent gifts.

They are not allowed to enter both contests, only one or the other. However I suppose they do have an advantage in that they can wait till near the end and decide which they would like to enter based upon photos already submitted....

Yes, I see I was indeed mistaken.
I wouldnt call it an advantage, after all they are gonna submit thier best pics no matter which camera.
In fact, it may hurt them. They may have an excellent pic in both catergories, but will have to settle for only one category.

Anthony, any chance on extending the contest through April?
I just feel bad as I mostly only use cameras april through November. Had I known......

You have until 11:59am (noon) this sunday to get your entries online in the contest topic of your choosing.

I keep all my photos for 3 years running. This is why I have terrabytes of disk space... nowadays this is cheap. Everyone should go buy a 2 TB portable hard drive for $120 or less (they keep getting cheaper by the week). Soon the 3 TB drives will be the standard.

Can yall visit your other forums and post a link to this topic there ?

Wow is right! Thanks to all the sponsors!

I've got thousands of photos, but none that I think are contest worthy. I'm going to have to saturate my home / farm with cameras over the next few days in a quest for something contest worthy.
