I have had enough with trespassers in the past they steal stuff, tear stuff up for no reason, shoot game in and out of season and when they get caught the can't figure out why you would be so upset? I now use several time lapse camera systems for Security alot they cover more area and normally get several pictures depending on your delay settings. Plus they are real easy to hide only have to expose the lens no PIR or IR leds. I also have some of the 580M cell cameras on Security duty that way you get instant feedback for you hunting lease/land and could call the sheriff and let him know they are in there right now when a pic comes through. I like to put cameras up in trees hollowed out tree stumps when watching trails/roads they are about impossiable to been seen that way I have even walked up on my own cameras that they were stolen the blended so well. Its going to be time to bring out your bag of tricks and catch this guy its personal now!

I agree i would set cameras just to get this guy. Being he is that brazen to do that. He will be back whether its to hunt or what ever he is up to.
Hope you get him

I have a few older bushnell cams that are dead, if you want one to set up as a dummy cam so you can put another hidden cam watching it let me know, cover the shipping and it's yours.

Thanks for the ideas. I have been working with the Sheriff's office to do the right thing. I am afraid of putting up anything else for fear it will get smashed as well. What makes me sick is that the camera didn't send a single pic of the attack. That was a TON of money right down the tube. I emailed HCO and got no response, but I guess I didn't really expect one.

I would assume that it was the same fellow on the ATV so he knew what he was going after. This means he probably approached from the side or behind to do his dirty deed. He was determined because he had to have some serious tools to do that kind of damage to the security box. The dummy camera is a good idea if you think he will repeat the trip and cut the fence again.

Out of curiosity did the fellow happen to hit your salt block with his ATV? It appears he is looking toward the camera and heading directly toward the salt block. If he did you may just have to look for someone who is in need of repair of the tie rods on that model of ATV.

Be careful out there. Looks like it could be a Meth head to me with a load of his supplies. A lot of times they look for out of the way places on rural farms to dump their their toxic crap or to set up shop.

First try to get blurriness corrected. Then, post both of those pictures up all over town and call this guy out!

I hope he hit it, and I hope new tie rods aren't all it needs. Too bad the block isn't high enough to total his ATV and pitch him head-first over the handlebars.

I hope you catch that moron.

I'm still waiting on the sheriff to act on this. That's the problem with this is the perp is a local guy and I am the outsider. The deputy that took the report grew up right around my place and knows everyone by first name.
My neighbors recognized the guy in the pic and gave me his name, but still, nothing is done.

He didn't hit the block. I truly wish he had.

My guess is the deputy will not do anything if he knows all the "good ole boys" in the area.

I feel your pain, nothing but problems come about when you dont live on the land. Here in Michigan its crazy in my opinion, but probably the same everywhere. I have permission to hunt a northern property and went and talked with the neighbors that surround it. They have told me no guy from the city is going to come up there and tell them what they can and cant do. They want to fight you over it. If it was my land, Id get serious about it, but in my case its not worth the risks.
You are right, if the local sherrif knows the guy, its likely nothing will happen. He likely went and talked with the guy and told him to stay away, rather then arresting him. He likely doesnt have money to pay your damages, and likely has many run ins with the law on his record. Its a shame that if you went on his land, he would probably shoot you or call the cops and you would be the one in trouble. Good luck, but it sounds like your on your own with this one..... :(

It just keeps getting worse. People are so inconsiderate. Worse yet - if they find out you're the one who reported them, then they come around at 3AM and do things while your asleep. Putting the dead camera out as a decoy and hanging a good camera high in a tree as mentioned prior is a good idea. Good luck.

Is the fence getting cut in the same place? If so, hollow out a log or something and put a cam in it. Catch them before they even get into the field.
