more or less that is correct. it could be a person, a car, anything which moves against the back ground

So can you take video, pause a certain frame and make that a picture with the basic field scan that's free?

No the free version is for field scan mode (time lapse) which involves processing photos. The free version does not play videos. That functionality is only in the Pro version.

So what exactly does field scan do?

In field scan mode the camera is set to take pics at a certain interval of the day say between 5 and 9 am, you set it to take a pic every 5 minutes, and you can set it to take a pic every 5 min between 4 and 8 pm. You use scouting assistant to filter through all the pics to find the ones with something in the pictures.

O, I thought field scan had to do with the pictures after they were taken.



So none of that free software does anything to the pics once they've already been taken?

Owner retrieves SD card and returns to computer

Owner launches scouting assistant field scan (free)

User imports photos from card and scouting assistant converts them into a high speed time lapse video

Play the time lapse video back at variable speed or with stop frame back and next.

Perform a motion search on the time lapse video.

Extract a section of the video and produce a video that you can email or play.

etc, etc, etc ....

I support Bushnell trophy cam, Stealth cam (certain models that have time lapse), and DLC Covert cameras with time lapse (A license is included with each camera in the box). All of these are considered the "free" version. It is designed to assist the owner in processing a card full of photos taken in time lapse mode which could conceivably be in the thousands but you can use it for any pull of your sd card. The software does not care, it just loads the photos and processes them.

The Number of pics could be in the thousands. An alternative: use windows and your mouse to click each one and view it.. after a few hours you may want a better solution. that was my goal. scouting assistant is not Photo Shop or Adobe Premiere, etc ... It is designed with specific goals in mind.
