I decided to walk the dry creek from the drought conditions on the newly purchased 50 acres that has that white oak hardwood bottom. This would be the easy way to find heavily traveled crossings. I found it right on the property line and they have it so worn down the creek bank has been V'd out from the traffic! These pictures have descriptions embedded in them saying what they are. I'll post the pics once the 5210MM sends'm.

What is that external battery set up you are using for the Little Acorn?
Discuss.

The one pictured is the solar panel made for the Ltl Acornn shed hunter. Its the primary dc source of 7v and the internal (8) AA batteries are standby just incase. I wanted to use a rechargeable 12v but, am having difficulty locating that plug end and non USB on the other. I was fabricating my own but can't locate that certain skinny plug adapter. Maybe I'll try the local Tandy store and see what I find.

I would love to use a solar panel with my Little Acorn but cannot. I can't put my Little Acorn in the sun because all it does is false trigger all day long. The only way I can use it is if I place it under heavy canopy. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too sensitive.

Yeah, I have the same issue. I've set it on normal and still get that issue. I went today to move it closer to the test location and when I took it off the tree the side of it was warm from the sun beaming on it. I want to get a new plug connector for it and run it on 12v instead and use it anywhere.
I really dont mind the false triggers as my plan is unlimitted and like to see whats going on out there just for the _ell of it.
She still false triggered in the shade as something besides the sun triggered it I suppose but no animals present.

Yeah. I went down the road a bit and re-deployed it. Got nothing for two days so today I pulled it and brought it to an area where dogs would have to swim to get to the spot. I'm pretty sure the dog ran all the deer out of the original spot.

Here's a night picture from the Ltl Acorn after the readjustment. The illumination area selected turned out just right. I only intended to want to see this area only and no further than 20' @ 5 megapixals. No deer crossed last night and probably could tell I had been there by the cutting of trees and what not and those tree stubbs will be removed on Sunday. Thanks to the armadillo at the bottom causing a pictue, it gave me a night shot proof. Now we'll wait on the deer.
