Earlier this season, I had a 2010 Primos X-Cam that would not power up so I contacted customer service at Primos and they replaced it with a new 2011 model X-Cam. Last week I put the camera out for the first time and when I checked the pictures today, I noticed the time and date are messing up on almost all of the night time pictures. From what I can tell, the time and date switches to "12:00:00 AM" and "01-01-70" on almost every night picture (but not all), but most daytime pictures show the date and time.

I put the camera out with brand new Duracell batteries and the indicator is showing full battery. I am guessing it is a power drain issue when the LED array is lighting up, but not sure. Has anyone else ever run across this issue?

I did find where it's actually happening on daytime pictures as well, so it may not be a "power surge" issue with powering the LED's. Over the course of the 5 days the camera has been out, it has lost approximately 3 days and 4 hours.

My xcam does that too. But when mine switches to 1970, it almost never gets off it and the time keeps resetting. Sometimes it will last a week or two after I reset it and other times it will switch over in a day or two without any rhyme or reason. Fresh batteries, old batteries, day, and night has no bearing. It is simply random.

Thanks for the reply Karl...I have not tried contacting customer support, but will do so tomorrow to see if they have any idea what might be going on...I've had the Bushnell Trophy Cams reset the time and date to 1970 before, but it is usually when the batteries are very low, or near dying.

Once I get anything out of customer support, I will certainly report back here...it's not a huge deal, just a little annoying that I can't see the right date and time on the pics....especially when going through more than 3 or 4 days worth of pictures!

When I had to send a replacement cam back to them, actually 2, I complained and they sent me a return UPS label no charge. I wouldn't tolerate not knowing when my pics are being taken.
