I purchased a WGI IR10g (a Gander Mountain exclusive that is identical to the IR10X but with camo). This camera would only take black night pictures.
Gander Mountain said to contact the manufacturer. I contacted WGI (with a lot of difficulty) and they replaced my IR10g with an IR10x (I paid a premium for the camo).
The IR10x took beautiful day and night pictures while it worked but only for a day.
The battery (yes it came with the camera and yet, I charged it fully before use) only lasted one night and took 384 pictures. I could see the night pics get darker and darker until the battery ran down and the pics were totally black.
I had the camera up for a week but only had pics with one calendar date.

In the end, Gander Mountain allowed me to return the camera for a refund and paid for the shipping. Kudos to Gander Mountain, Boos to WGI!

Downside is that I am stuck with the Wireless network device, which worked ok but I don't need now since I will not be buying another WGI. If you need one, PM me for a price.

I am sorry that the camera did work the way you hoped it would for you. It seems like the battery was your issue to test first. Did you try to replace the battery to see if it was just a bad battery that couldn't hold a full charge? Also what was the temperatures for those days that the camera was out? Very hot, cold, or even a quick change in temperature could affect a battery's life.

Please define "very cold" as regards when your WGI cameras/batteries might quit working when taking videos. We finally had some cold weather here in Arkansas (26 degrees at night), and sure enough my Pulse 10X camera quit working during the night and resumed during the day (40 degrees). And yes, the battery was fully charged. In fact, the second cold night I used a 2nd fully-charged battery and the same thing happened.

Am I to assume that once the temperatures drop below freezing that my expensive camera will quit working?

I am so disappointed in WGI products. First, neither of two wifi modules would work properly, and now my camera has quit on me. Any suggestions?

Thanks you.............

"Very Cold" is 20's and below. Cold temperatures shouldn’t make the camera stop working just put a drain on the batteries. Our cameras have been tested in the teens and they still work fine.

I beg to differ as regards my WGI Pulse 10x camera. When I try to take videos at night with a fully charged battery, my camera shuts down totally when the temps hit 30 deg. The next morning when the temps are still in the low-20s, it will take pretty good day-time videos and it still shows the battery to be fully charged.

So it appears that either the battery or the internal camera electronics just can't work the IR flash when the temps drop below freezing.

I envy the fact that your cameras and wifi modules work fine in your test lab, yet when I purchase them they quit working properly.

What seems to be the problem Durango is that the battery is getting cold, obviously. A cold battery slows down the function of the battery and produces less power. When the temperature starts to rise, the battery begins to allow more flow through the battery and function better.

I returned my original camera and wireless device that I was having so much trouble with, and WGI sent me new ones. Actually this was the 2nd wireless device they have replaced. I have not yet tried this 3rd unit......at this point I'm a little gun-shy.

But I think I will keep it, as 3rd time might be a charm. Thanks for inquiring, though.
