Everytime I plug the sd card in the camera shuts down. I take the SD card out and I can get the camera to power back up.
Has anyone come across this problem?

Always turn the camera off before inserting or removing your SD cards, this will cause camera issues and possible corrupt SD cards.

Welcome to the forum.
X2 on shutting the cam down.I always format each card for the camera they are going to be used in too.

I did try differnet sd cards and still the same problem. I'll try reformatting the cards first tonight.
I use the external power jack could this be a problem? I'll also try running it on batteries too.

I reformatted the cards and power the camera up after the sd card was in and it still didn't work.
I still have to check and make sure that isn't not the external power jack.
anymore more ideas would be great?
The camera is out of warranty so I cant return it.
I did call the manfurfactor and all they told me was to send it in with a check for $90 for a new one.

Does your battery have a good charge in it? I would try a set of internals in it too.

I replace the sd card reader and the camera is working again. not bad for a $10
