That happens a lot here on the island.
Go through the trash and look for an address and name on their mail.

for a motion based setup you will have to be within 30 to 50 feet (depending on camera) in order to have it trigger. A time lapse setup will work withour motion needed. some time lapse camera only function during the day while others will function night and day. A trail cam that does time lapse mode will have IR flash. If its red flash then it can be seen at night but the subjects. If it is black flash it will be invisible.

There's a land management company here on the island that has a bad problem with people dumping their trash on their property. They have a good way of dealing with it. If they find an address in the trash, they gather it all up and deliver it back to the dumper and put it all on their front porch or yard.

Townies moved in near to me & dumped a load of garden waste in the field.
Local farmer bagged it all up in an old maxi fertiliser bag & carefully lifted it over their gate with a tele-handler blocking them from opening their gates!

Never happened again!
