First one I've had for about a month and it started all RED daytime pictures about a week ago. It had not developed that problem before I ordered my 2nd one, I'm a sucker for a "deal". I put the 2nd one behind my house several days ago and ALL of the daytime pictures are RED. I have not heard anyone else with the stuck IR filter problem. Both are on their way back to Amazon and the replacements are to arrive 2/09. I hope the replacements are better or I'll just get a refund.

My first one was a dud too, ate my 8 AA batteries in less than 24hrs on just 66 pics. I hope my replacement is a good one as I really like the pics it takes. The exchange process is super easy with Amazon so that makes is not as bad for me. Hope our new ones are keepers. 8)

Amen to that! Wish I had known the '09 BTC's were as reliable as they are. Mine has been out 24/7/365 since I got it and hasn't missed a beat, and the battery life is unreal.

I did have the stuck filter on the 4th cam that I returned in my quest for the perfect w6x. It only did it for the first 5-10 pics in the morning but I figured why deal with the problem at all and replaced it quick. It was the cam the took the pic of my avatar. I have now had no issues with the other 3 since mid october and they have been out all but 2 days since then. I have heard of 3-4 others that have had the problem since. So it is a relatively rare occurence. I have heard/seen other manufacturers cams having the issue on here as well, and saw pics from a Hunten with the problem.

If the 2 replacement cams have the same issue, I'll give them a little "love tap" to see if that will get them going.

The 09 BTC is one of the best cams ever made in my opinion. I love my 09 BTC's, I have never had one issue with mine and they are both about 2 years old.
