I wanted to get a good grasp as to what other members have found when comparing the Advanced 4X and the Ultimate 8X lithiums. I thought it would be better located in a poll so I dont have to poke around in other threads looking for the answer.
I just cant see paying so much more for the Ultimates if there is no "noticeable" difference.

Thanks.

I have used the Ultimate in my 2009 Trophy cam and recorded 6 months - This was over a year ago.
Right now I am using the Advanced in the 2009 Trophy cam since September.

Funny thing is - If they last 6 months and you test on the same camera the test could last a year.

I can reply to this poll on my 2009 TC in about 3 more months or when ever the batteries die  Testing Litiums is like watching a snail.

More questions-

I could also wonder if the Lithiums I purchased in 2009-2010 are "as good as" the Lithiums I purchased in 2011.

I noticed in my neck of the woods once walmart and sam's club ran out of the lithiums there were no more for the first 6 months of 2011.
New batches showed up around Aug or September of 2011. So was there was a gap in production? How is quality control for lithium battery production where ever they are made?

Hmmmmm....Your probably right. It might be like asking about the longevity of a marriage while waiting for the first child to arrive to get a better answer.....LOL

I am guessing that only those who use videos on a steady basis at high activity locations could provide a real answer.

I also stuck a set of 8 Advanced in my new 2011 M-80

From some reports on CG the M80 may use more power then a TC.

That might speed things up a bit if the M80 uses them up faster.

To have a true test one would need to keep count of day and photos.

Night photos use more juice too because of the flash.

I think Anthony posted a consumer report on AA batteries not too long ago and I think it said the Advanced lasted longer.
(That is why I am using the Advanced right now) besides the cost :)

I know what he posted...I just found it hard to swallow that a company would decieve us so greatly with the 8X designation and wanted some hard facts from users.....

I believe that chart came from a Consumer Report issue which I get. If you follow their reviews, they don't always give companies the benfit of the doubt. They don't take a large sample. For example, a treadmill fails after 4 hrs. of use. Do they try another example of that model? Probably not and that might have been one bad unit out of 1000.
Just like those batteries. Did they try one series of cameras or multiple samples? Did they test them before placing in camera? Probably not. I find their testing helpful but with a grain of salt.
Anthony at least gives game camera companies the chance to provide representative samples if he finds an apparent issue, defect, problem in a model.

I just went back to the Consumer Report website to take another look at the chart saying advanced beat out ultimate. They did some retesting and found ultimates won out 1200 to 900 per set. I have been wondering about some of their testing methods.

These tests were done with regular digital cameras if you were trying to compare your experiences to theirs.

How many videos are you taking in a week?

I have been on regular duracell batteries since thanksgiving. Taking over 100 videos every 2 weeks in my 466c.

I have 6 M80's. Five of them have 8 ultimates and one has four advanced. The one with the four advanced batteries seemed to last as long as the one with the 8 ultimates. In fact, the four advanced just dropped to 57% after hanging on a tree since September. Averaged about 25 fifteen second videos and 25 pictures per week - about half at night.
