I'm putting my camera out in an area that I won't be able to get back to for 2 months (5 hours from where I live). Assuming the camera is still there when I go back to check it, what settings will give me the most battery life and still take reasonable pics?

I was going to try the trail cam mode, 3 shot multi-shot, 1 minute photo delay and high photo quality. I have Energizer ultimate lithiums in it. Does this sound reasonable?

Thanks for the help and sorry if this is a repeat question, but I couldn't find an answer after doing a search.

Welcome to the site. Lithiums should give you at least 6 months at those settings. You could set the delay to 15sec even. Mine would have no problem going 2 months on just cheap ray o vac. Enjoy the new cam. The m80 is my favorite cam even though it will miss a deer once and awhile. Works great for my food plots.

The only thing I would do different would be change the photo quality to medium. I have had a M-80 out for several weeks and even with my picture quality on medium, the pictures are excellent.

I was wondering if the enhanced mode was the reason why my 2 were eating batteries up in less than 2 weeks.
Whats your thoughts?

I don't think so. I run mine on enhanced, but I use an external power source. I use the power panal and now the primos 6v power pack. I've not noticed any extra drain. Before the steroid pack I did use just regular AA for a couple weeks with no problem. Think you just got a couple bad one's.

It all depends on the location. A feeder will produce way more pics than a trail set up. So... if you go with a feed type setup you will need a SD card capable of holding a lot of pics. If I remember correctly a 2MB card holds around 1500-1800 photos

I would set it to 2 picture burst if it was me.

Good luck and keep us updated. (IS your m80 have the latest update firmware? )

Does changing the photo quality to a lower setting really increase battery life?

NSH I dont believe it increases battery life at all . The only thing it increases is card space for more files of smaller size.
