NSH why is it that you ALWAYS believe EVERYONE is a thief out to steal your cameras ?

Is EVERYONE but you a camera thief in Nantucket ? Well it is Massachussetts , true , there maybe more thieves there than here, but all you have gotten was " thumbs up " pics and passer by's that just stared at your cam. So whats your basis for EVERYONE is a camera thief ?

Mine have been out for 3 years and all I've gotten is one guy walking his dogs being a critic thinking the cam is doing the hunting and one kid out hunting giving the cam a " thumbs up, another hiker saw the cam and waved, and 2 others that saw the cam and pointed at it, walked up to it , never touched it and kept walking , one saying to the other it must be there to take pictures of wildlife. I had 2 others walking their dogs see the camera after their dog found it , look and walk away , one actually grabbed his dog cause it wanted to climb up and stare in the camera. The guyt yelling at the dog to get away from that. Thats it !

I know there are bad apples out there and it only takes one to ruin the bushell , but 99.999999999 percent of people wont steal your cam. But you paint everyone with the same brush! Sheesh !

nice pics...looks like the kid was out there predator hunting to me, with a nicely set up m1 carbine...he gave the thumbs up to the cam - prob'ly impressed that someone else was way out in the bush too. I know 10 yrs ago I would have looked like that carrying a synthetic stocked evil looking pump 308 and like rambo cuz the camo is what it was...I would never have had any intention of stealing a camera so...

This area doesn't get much traffic in the winter. The camera has been there since the latter part of January and this person was the first I got a picture of. About the only people I ever see in the area is a few rabbit hunters but they stay close to the road and don't fenture out too much. It's just too thick and nasty to go too far in the bush.

I pulled all the cameras and took them home since with this warming spell the ticks and chiggers will be out big time. I'll scout the creek area near the lake since it isn't near as overgrown. Lot's of deer and bobcat sign there to!!

I was thinking it was an M14. Nice looking gun though he's got.

I don't think he was a punk because he didn't vandalize the camera or steal it. Looked like just a guy out for some varmit hunting since the game seasons are closed now.

This is public land and I know I am taking a risk but it's the only area I have to use. I was surprised I got so many really good deer and coyote pictures in this area. Now that I am learning more about setups I will only do better. All in all I am very pleased with my first attempts to get game pictures. I am sure I missed a bunch due to inexperience but with more experience that will greatly improve.

I'm offended that the guy in the picture got called a "punk" and also the statement about how it's "scary" who has guns. This guy was obviously out hunting, DID NOT touch the camera, did not hurt anything, so why the negative comments? That guy could have been me (if I was about 20 years younger).

These are the type of comments I would expect from anti-hunters. Do we have anti's on Chasingame?

Sorry if my comments offended anyone here. That kid does not look like he's hunting with his tongue out and his thumb up.
I really don't like seeing civilians on my cams. Especially when they stop and mess with them. When you see someone's cam, leave it alone and move on. We don't want to see any more of you than we have to.
