From what we've seen so far for '12, I'd love to see these 3 cams go head to head to head! If you were to choose 2 of these, which 2? Any other mid-priced low or no glow cams you'd like to throw in to the mix, such as the Moultrie? Your thoughts?

so far they all seem like good cams i would take for sure the bushnell and covert blackout. the sg560k-8m is over priced for me.

Compared to the Reconyx HC600, SG560K price is reasonable. Still, there is a lower priced SG560P-8M, which is a low glow camera for the 2012 model.

Both SG560K-8M and SG560P-8M are Long Range cameras, meaning, the detection range is over 80ft and illumination is at least 70ft.

I wasn't comparing it to Reconyx. That to me is apples to oranges--and why I'm interested in the cams mentioned above. On the SG650P, does it have 940mn led's? If so, what's the pricepoint and when will it be available?

The MSRP of SG560P-8M is $219, though resellers may set prie higher or lower.
It uses 940nm, but a transparent LED cover, so to have better picture quality
and illumination range (to match the detection range of 85ft).

It is shipping in volume. You may search internet with "SG560P-8M" for dealers.

as it stands right now the only proven authorized dealer for this SG camera is HCO and they will be receiving their stock shortly

SG, so the difference between the 560K and 560P is a tinted cover--and $70? Kind of expensive plastic!

Thanks for the info, Anthony!

Tbone, great chart! I had seen part of that chart but thought the 940nm on the 560P could have been a misprint--guess not! Also, the 550 is going to be offered in low glow and black flash? I'm not a fan of those remotes but still have a couple working 550's in reserve and a couple extra security boxes from non-surviving cams. Just another option to consider!

That's the only difference you look from the outside. There are also inside differences.
The SG560K has to use the best components in order to achieve the superior performance.
It takes much longer time to finish the R&D and qualification. That means, the R&D cost of Black IR is 3x-4x more than the Low Glow version. Check the difference of Reconyx HC600 and RC500, the
difference is $100.

As the SG560K-8M sales pick up, the price will go more rational.

it depends on how your cam works out with the reported issues of ir burn and motion blur. from what i am seeing you are going to have a very hard time staying up with the new bushnell 467. again if you could describe the flash duration on your red ir cam it may be on my list. from what i have seen you have a flash covering on this cam that is supposed to diffuse the light and correct ir burn. excessive motion blur is unacceptable. 1/16 sec. shutter duration if teemed with a i.s.o. speed above 100 for nightime pictures would work. the little apples have a1/15 shutter speed with a i.s.o. equivalant of 540 and do a pretty good job. truly hazelvillebucks

Hazelvillebucks, I guess you meant the 476. Man, they need to come up with a better model numbering system!

oh boy from what catman is showing us of that cam i am getting weak. i thought the replacement for the 466 was the 467. maybe that will save me for a while. the emotional roller coster of cams is at the highest of highs when looking at the information coming out from this cam. i do not want to see the lowest of lows. please realize that i am talking about the 476 when i mention the 467.
i am also getting tired of hearing about the high labor costs in china causing cams to be priced so high. this is pushing reality. truly hazelvillebucks

If the price was rational, you'd have sales. You're not selling reconyx, and people are very leery that everest and cameras4life are selling counterfeits. I thought HCO distributed Scoutguard?
