Just finished up s40 with internal slave. went to test and the slave will not fire all the time. seems like it takes at least 30 to 45 seconds before it will fire again. had the slave in its own box at one time and it seemed to refresh a lot faster before. The flash and cap are inside the box on top and the 2800 and flash controller are on the bottom left. Is it possible the the board and the cap are to far apart. I also used solid copper wire between the two any ideas

It should fire faster then that. What batteries are you using to power the slave and do you have the resistor in line between the slave control board and the 2800a board? Which slave control board are you using? By having the 2800a board near the slave control board there may be a chance that the 2800a board is resetting the slave control board when it fires.

Most of the 2800 slaves make a small whine when it recharges, do you hear this right after it fires or does it take a while for you to hear the whine?

Im running a BF board with 4 C batteries that are fresh off the charger. the control board is sitting directly on top of the 2800 boar. maybe that is the problem. why would the 2800 board reset the slave control board

lots of voltage running through those wires. If you can try and separate them and see if it makes a difference.

Do you have the resistor in the power wire between the board and slave board?

it should be between the slave board and the bf board.

I put it there on my first build and I know a lot of people do, let's see how separating the board does for you.
