Anybody else around the country seeing a record number of them? Every tree in the fence rows and up and down the road have been filled with webs. They have now come out of the webs and are hitting the fruit trees. Pulled some off the apple trees yesterday and today had to pull another 12 of them off 2 apple trees I planted last year. If headed out to your huntin' spots this weekend be sure to give your fruit trees a hard look, because they can blend in with the branches and be hard to spot.

our tents are down the last couple yrs but the gypsy moths were up....hopefully we're not on the same cycle as you guys though - I just can't stand the mess even if they don't target the same trees. BTW - the last time the tents were peaked(about 5yrs ago), they had to stop rentals of golf carts at the course near Hurley, WI because they would start sliding down hills on the paved cartpath from all the crushed worms. Also it was HARD to sink a putt with all the critters in the way.

I remember going out back with a big stick and gas soaked rag attached and basically swinging that thing around in the trees. It was a massacre .

Pulled and killed atleast another 12 off the same 2 trees again today. Going to have to get the spray out when the rain clears out.
