With whats out there right now, could you build a low end homebrew system for under $100 ? Please don't assume that the price depends on finding an obsolete camera on eBay or something like that.

I keep feeling that if you could build a digital home brew camera with decent functionality for under $100 then this could open up new doors.

What do you think ?

The cheapest you can build would be right around $100. Probably a little more. Everything minus the camera will cost $75 to $100 depending on what you use. (about $15 for case, $50 for sensor board, and $10 for glass and wire and such). The cheapest digital camera(that I know of) is a $40 Digital Concepts 2.1mp. So I don't think you can break the $100 barrier.

Yeah that's the first forum I ever joined. Then when I got into cam building I joined all those forums for help. After that I stumbled upon this site and thought "why not?" I still like hanging around in all the forums.
