Talked to Jeff at Non-Typical today and he assured me that anyone having technical problems with the cams would be taken care of.

He advised me to have the customers contact them and the cams would be straightened out to work in the way they were designed to or replaced with a new unit.

If anyone that purchased a camera from me will let me know what shipping charges you incur from this, I will send you a check for the full amount to cover the extra amount you are having to pay to have your cam working the way it should.

I completely agree with your statement Anderson.

BuckNrut has gone waaaaay above and beyond what is necessary to try and satisfy his customers, but this is Non-Typicals problem. And I have full faith Non-Typical will handle it correctly. They are too major a player in the industry not to.

I spoke to Eric of Non-Typical at the QDMA Convention over the weekend, and he said they found the problem. Anyone with a problem unit will be taken care of. I had full faith in Non-Typical.

I believe it was a firmware problem for approximately 1,500 of the new units.

BSK,

Wow! 1500 units? I wonder how many units were sold. I would guess around a 2500 units? What are the odds of you getting three out of three? Actually, pretty good. I am sure Non-T will make it right with you. I just hope you have good results when you get your new cameras. I can't wait to read the results and see some great pictures from some managed land.

I can hardly stand the wait. I want to get those cameras out and see who is using the property this year! :)

Although it will be tough to top last year--40 different bucks using 500 acres, 20 of them being "shooters."

Price Delivered to Door – $293.00 Cabela’s

Overall Satisfaction – Neutral, not sure if it is worth the money I’m only concerned with trigger speed compared to the competition this cameras takes pictures at .63 seconds where the competition is 3.43 or more. I want to put this camera on game trails not feeders so I hope it’s what I want.

Distance – From the little oak tree were I put my archery target back by the fence took pictures of cars passing 35 (115 ft) yards away.

Clarity – 2.0 megapixels, some pictures looked great others looked granular none looked good on the Flat Panel TV.

Trigger Speed – Can’t tell need more testing. (Supposed to be the best of all cameras)

Motion – When walking myself in front of the camera at 5 yards it didn’t go off when I thought it should have. I had it set to take pictures every 1 minute. When I thought that minute was up it didn’t take another picture for like 3 minutes. I had it set about 1 foot off the ground and I guess the motion sensor detects in a straight line and was seeing my skinny legs and didn’t pick them up well. New testing with it set at recommended three feet and will put corn further from the camera.

Spook Deer – I had two bucks feeding in front of it last night, I can’t say for sure how long they were feeding but had only two pictures of them. Reset the camera and had this morning one doe picture and a picture of a dog. It also caught Jordyn (my daughter) coming from the swing.

Next steps – True field test, purchase two compact flash cards of about 128 megs on one and 512 to 1 gig on the other The 512 or 1 gig will be when I leave it for 1-3 months and the 128 meg will be used to swap out when hunting, I might even get lower megs like 32.

Suggestions – At this point get something with higher megapixels. I think the 3.0 Cuddeback will look better but the price out ways the return, but to me this is a tool and not a pro photographer and that is where to me speed in the trigger is better than picture quality could ever be.

I got a new Cuddeback no-flash and am having the sensor and card writing problems with it.

I think I missed something. What problems did this fix? I talked to Cuddeback this morning and they did not mention this fix to me. They told me to remove the card and take a few picks and then return the card and wait for cooler weather for the sensor.

If they said it is a firmware problem then it is probably a simple fix where the data on the board just needs to be updated.

Kind of like updating video card drivers on your computer.

The camera isnt communicating right with the cards therefore it isnt telling the camera to write the picture it is taking.

Lots of digital cameras have 2 or 3 firmware upgrades after they first come out to cure issues that arrise that werent detected before the camera was released.

Maybe Cuddeback will add a feature to the cams so a customer can download firmware upgrades and install them theirself in the future through USB or 1394.

BnR,

I don't know what it would cost to add a software upgrade feature to a cam, but wouldn't it be cool if every darn cam manufacturer had it :!: :?: :!: Seems like it would solve alot of the headaches......
