I really think that if your batteries fall out that the clip is not installed properly. To try and get a better handle on this issue I took my IR unit off of the tree and looked at the battery setup and clip...and shook the whole unit. Still intact....
The clip should hold the batteries in there even without the blue tab.
AND, if they arent installed right or have a bad connection it may not have enough voltage to run correctly. Just a thought? I havent had any issues with my Cuddeback IR yet and the way my luck goes I really doubt that I got lucky and bought one of the only good ones.

PS:I could see where you might have problems with the water because there is no gasket for the cover???

Update on the cam that said ERROR.

For some reason the very first picture it tried to take with dustys NEW compact flash card, it didnt take the picture, but it did record the video. Since the camera was cleared of the ERROR screen from then it has recorded pictures and video without any problems at all.

Video:

Seems like the camera had issues at first on a new unformatted compact flash card.

Im beginning to think that Non-Typical didnt do any in house testing at all on these cameras.

As of right now, this camera is working normal.

As I told BuckNrut privately, two of my "fixed" cameras (circuit boards replaced) corrupted the CF cards the first time they tried to write to them (newly formatted cards). However, after that first attempt, and another card reformatting, they worked fine.

Sheesh, thes new designed Cudde's are really problem children.

I hated to send mine back because the pictures it took were excellent. But I need a reliable product and from what I read it is not.

I have had my new IR cuddeback for a little over a week. It has taken over 400 pictures both day and night. So far it has been excellent! Maybe i received an updated model or something but it's a fantastic camera.

SilentT, Is your Cuddeback no flash still working to your liking? Where did you purchase it at. I have had two from Bass Pro. Neither worked.

It is "working" but the battery plate, mounting style, and moisture make it difficult to operate well. I am still trying to decide what to do about it. Will be calling cuddeback soon. I purchased it from Cabelas.

ok

I put my camera back out Sunday evening, left it at 5:30p.m., at 6:30p.m. I had pics of a buck within 45 minutes, had camer on infared and at 9:00 p.m. I had some pics of a doe, they were whitewashed (may have been to close, I'll try to post to see ya'lls opinion). The camera was set for video and the video at night was ok. Maybe I just haven't been holding my mouth right, so I put it in the yard just a minute ago to see if I can pick up the deer that have been in my yard each night. I don't know about the sensor due to heat but when I left it Sunday it was at 100 with high humidity and is now so I'll test again. Haven't been able to get the flash to work, gonna see how that goes.

I've got the videos of the night recordings but don't know how to post them.

I talked to N-T today and they are going to try and get me the fastest turn-around possible on my unit with the failed trigger mechanism.

They said they didn't think they could do anything about the heat problems. Electronics and heat don't go well together.

Have you thought of maybe attaching a small, quiet fan, that would run from battery, and have it on a thermostat. May cool it down the one or two degrees needed to function properly. Just a thought.

I got mine back from Bernie yesterday. So far this one seems to hold the batteries in place. I will be putting back in the field this weekend. I almost forgot, Paul talked to CuddeBack about my battery problem They havent heard of this, so they thought is was a bad unit. They sent me a new one. :D

Swerve,
This is the camera that I did extensive testing on before I sold it to a hunting buddy. It never failed to record any with my compact flash cards. Dusty told me about it saying error so I went to check it with my laptop in tow.
For some reason when he put in the brand new compact flash card it gave him that error when it took its first picture. Unknown what caused that other than the card never was formated before installing it. It continued to work but the first pic wasnt there, only the video.

My opinion on the no flash: If they work I love them. Every camera hat I have tested so far has worked flawlessly, however I sold BSK 6 of them and he has had numerous issues with the cameras reading to the cards.
His cameras were orderred within 30 minutes of my distributor recieving the cameras. I orderred 10 of them and BSK got 6 of them. I tested one without any issues and a TnDeer member bought another and hasnt had any issues.

Since my distributor sold the first shipment and recieved their second I havent had any customers have any issues from cameras that I know of.

I meant to open two more cameras today for my personal use but didnt get the chance today. Had to get caught up on my yard work :( and work on my huntclubs website.

I plan on opening those two tomorrow and doing a full hardcore review on them both.

If they work, Awesome Camera!!, If they dont, a huge headache.

Keep a close eye on BSK's posts on these cameras. If he gets all of his working well soon I promise you he will be able to give you the best opinion on all of the options these cameras have to offer. He will be gathering more data with these cameras than anyone could possibly gather.

I hope Anthony gets his soon. I want to see a Chasin Game review on the No Flash :)

BSK, keep me posted on the turnaround.

Probably the most concise comment yet! Love the features of the NoFlash. Now if I can just get them to work consistently...
