more details to come as well as for External IR flash.

I like the sound of that!

Also very interested in the External IR flash. Shouldnt be hard to take a signal from the unit to trigger a relay providing power to an external flash.
The great thing about a remote external flash is that it works off the actual flash of the camera and it is "physically" independent of the camera...meaning nothing has to be done to the camera that would void it's warranty. The problem with this setup with commerical IR cameras is this: Almost every one illuminates the IR flash for an extended time. I can only assume that there is a delay from when the array comes on to when the pic is actually taken. Remote flashes basically trigger on when the illumination fires, so I would think this would have the remote flash firing before the pic is actually taken. On a whiteflash commercial cam(and all homebrew cams) the flash fires when the pic is taken and is obviousily not on for an extended time. This makes the timing work between the remote flash and the camera. So with what we have available right now, don't see a work around for the flash....but I do like HCO's coment from above!
I don't know how a remote flash on a camera like a scoutguard could work if it were not somehow "hardwired" to the camera.
Very interesting idea for thought & further discussion though!
