I'm waiting impatiently to see the battery life results also.

I purchased 2 of these online last week and set them out. Got 456 pics on one w/ no indication of batter issues...I'll see if my battery life matches up w/ the test. I'm running normal Rayovac C's..so nothing special about the batteries.
Pic quality was fine for 4MP...no complaints.
would love to have a batter indicator level instead of just a low batter light.

The indicator will pop up when the batteries are shot. You will also get black out night shots about the same time. At least it did this on mine. ( IR-4 ) I wish it would come up sooner by they its too late and you missed some shots.

The funny thing about this camera is that I catch myself saying "it could use this and that" then I snap back to reality that this is a decent quality camera for under $100.
If I can get 2500 pics out of these units like what you posted earlier I'll be tickled pink!
I'll also be ordering 2 more.

I have a question, i am new to the site and new to trail cameras but i bought this trail camera and i was wondering how does it work. .. meaning.... does it take pictures first to fill up the 16 Megs of interenal hard drive memory and then move onto the 1 gig SD drives? Or do you have to tell it to just start Throwing pictures onto the SD card from the start? Thanks for any help and from what i have seen in the reviews so far i made a good purchase. Thanks for all the work you do testing these for everyone!!!

When you put the SD card in it over rides the internal memory. The directions will guide you through it. It is a very simple camera. I bought mine earlier this year, so I am new as well. You can learn more on this site in a few days than you can on your own in a few years.

Make sure that your internal memory is deleted before you install the SD card. I am not sure about this model but alot of cameras need the internal memory erased in order to save to the SD card. Good luck, I am seriously considering picking up the S2 as soon as the battery tests are done :D

I picked up an s2 last weekend. Great camera for price.

Directions were good until the arming of the camera...I was on a short time limit to get the cam in the woods, so I had no practice run. I am a professional communications writer for a Fortune listed company, and I had one heck of a time visualizing the arming of the camera with the three steps they listed...I hope I got it right.

I've had 15 plus cams - directions were best yet, up until the arming point...

Kind of dissappointed in the battery test  I was hoping for double that, maybe the IR or the S1 will have better results. It does seem like a pretty good camera for the price. What type of batteries were you using for the tests Anthony?

I never erased mine and it has been working fine so far. It might not be a bad idea to clear it though.

Anthony, how soon do you think you will have some test pictures off of the S1.3? How much was the S1.3, was it $50?

Keep up the good work.

Brian

Yes the S1 was around $50. We only have room for so many cameras at the same time in our testing areas. We should get some fairly soon.
