Camera Mounts |
Crooked trees, double trees, and no trees are some of the problems that
have plagued the scouting camera user over the years. This company had
taken on the task to supply three different mounts that are not only
heavy duty but very functional. Those who have cameras that have the
threaded insert for a tri-pod will love these plus with their adapter
these same mounts can also be used with most cameras on the market. If
there was a threaded insert in the bottom of one of Custom ones metal
security boxes these brackets have enough girth to hold not only the
weight of the heavy duty security box but also a camera that would be
mounted inside.
Three versions are available and the first is the strap mount which
attaches this swivel bracket to the tree with a heavy duty ratchet strap
that would probably hold a Volkswagon engine to the tree. Next, is the
screw in mount which uses an auger type of screw similar to what is
found on deer stand steps to screw into the tree to hold the bracket in
its place. Then there is the post mount, which is designed to even fit T
posts that are common in farm and ranch fence lines. You can also use
round or square posts as long as the girth of the post is no bigger than
2 inches in diameter.
I like the idea of being able to mount the camera behind and to the side
of the tree so the camera will peak around the tree and not be stuck in
the open up against the tree. This allows those great double trees to
have a camera to be mounted between the two trunks and peak out between
the crack or to the side where brush has grown up against the tree and
can be use to help hide the camera. Of course, when the strap is used
the tell tale strap will be visible around the tree unless you poke a
few bits of green stuff under it to hide it.
Once the mount is secure on which ever place you choose and the camera
has its perch on the mount then you adjust the bracket so the camera is
aimed into the desired direction and angle and centered on the desired
target area.

Custom 1's angle adjusting bracket for the Bushnell Trophy/XLT camera is
a very heavy duty bracket that attaches to the bottom of the camera at
the tri-pod insert. There are two different versions of this bracket
that in addition the screw attachment there are two more points of anchor.
One is by the use of double sided tape across the top and the other is
with the self adhesive velcro across the same area. the double sided
tape is for a more germinate use and the velcro is if you wish to be
able to remove the camera from the bracket for any reason and then re
attach it again later. Both of these applications work very well but the
velcro method is a little thicker and with this design the python loops
stick through the bracket not far enough for a 1/4 inch python to fit
through. The double sided tape bracket will allow the python to be used.

Custom 1's angle bracket for the
Covert II and HCO SG560 is again a very heavy duty bracket that uses the tri-pod
insert to mount the camera with a screw plus you can either velcro or
double side tape the top of the camera if you wish. This bracket does
not have the option of the python cable through the loops like the XLT
model did. This is a very heavy duty bracket and will give you years of
service attached to either one of these cameras.

Custom 1's heavy
duty Bushnell XLT/ Covert II lock box with python/strap capabilities.
This box along with a good heavy Python cable and protected shackle lock
will make a very secure setup. A bad guy with a chain saw or axe might
get your camera but he would have to work to get it off the tree then
double work just to get it out of the box. This is a very neat and
secure setup. This same box will work well for the Scoutguard 550 when
used with a half inch of foam under the camera. Care must be taken that
the choice of foam is the closed cell type that will not take on
moisture.

This is Custom 1's angle bracket for
the Cudde Capture. A very heavy duty bracket that will work well for
that purpose. We did not have that camera in house to get the pictures
but I will ask that you imagine a Capture mounted in front of this
bracket. I know there are many who would not ever want to make that
effort but for the few who are lucky enough to have good operating
cameras of that type this could be a plus to its operation. I had asked
for someone to send me a cam to use for the pictures and more than one
told me they had non functional camera that I could use but those who
had good operating cameras did not want to let them go and take the
abuse of going through the mail for fear of the camera becoming among
the non functional many out there. This bracket would be a definite
value to that camera.
