Had the deer not been there the camera would (most likely) not have triggered. Its obvious the turtle slowly made its way to that point and only when the deer came by did the camera trigger.

Its hard for people doing reptile research to rely on PIR. The reptiles are for the most part the same temp as the ambient temps. Scouting cameras tend not to trigger on reptiles for the most part.

Cool video, is common to see turtles into this woods?
I have already seen water-turtles near swamp and so but never into a wood

This is a box turtle not a water turtle. i have seen them all my life here in Georgia. I put out some water melon rind last year and got a photo of one on it munching away.
