Has anybody tried to use Windows Movie Maker and Windows 10? I was under the impression that it would not work. I am trying out a free program called Shotcut http://www.shotcut.org/ but, it is not near as simple/easy as Movie Maker was.

If you do a web search for “Windows 10 movie maker” you should find several useful articles and videos. There apparently is a movie editing component in Photos. I haven’t used it as I have standalone video editing software but maybe you can try it.

I’m still using windows 7 on my pc, but my wife’s computer has windows 10. I can’t get myself to make the switch to 10, the entire interface is different. Her computer has better graphics and monitor than mine so I like to view photos and vids with it. But the software editing, etc, isn’t what I’m used to either. I don’t know why companies have to constantly change things that aren’t broken.

Windows 7 security is a problem. I made the change from 7 to 10 on my desktop workstation after support ended for Win 7 and I was pleasantly surprised at how easy that transition has been. I was using Win 10 on other computers, but had delayed on that one.

I'm using a free program called Classic Shell http://www.classicshell.net/ It makes widows 10 work like windows 7. I've been using it for a couple of years now and will never go back to the STUPID windows 10 interface & "tiles" start menu. My computer is running windows 10 so I get all of the updates & patches. It is just much easier to navigate and use.

I see great minds think alike! I’ll check out classic shell. The only thing stopping me from upgrading my pc is windows 10.

OK after searching & trying different video editing programs for quite some time now I finally found this https://youtu.be/edKDxJ7C8HE?t=67 and it was on my windows 10 computer the whole time! :x :x :x
It is very similar to Windows movie Maker (not quite as good but, very simple and free). Why in the world don't they let customers know about this????

I mentioned in my first reply that there is video editing capability in Photos, which is one of the two ways the guy showed to get to the video editor...

Also, you can set up Windows 10 so it looks like the regular old Windows 7 desktop without any add-one. Not one of my four Win 10 computers has those tiles on the home screen and I’ve winnowed them down when I access the view that does show them.
